Guilty Pleasure - Ella Henderson

I know she is an X Factor 'find' and I know I shouldn't like her, but I do.

Her music may not be the deepest most groundbreaking work ever recorded, but that voice .... I could never tire of it!

scoobyland 28 January 2015 11:49 PM

She is REAL nice.

Turbohot 28 January 2015 11:55 PM

Not a fan here. She's a good singer for sure, but her wonderful voice fails to touch me. Perhaps it will change with some new tunes that she brings out in future.

scoobyland 28 January 2015 11:55 PM

She looks real nice.

Yes, brilliantly delivered, I have to agree.

ditchmyster 29 January 2015 06:38 AM

Not quite feeling her but I can see she's got potential, I'm quite liking this kid at the minute, bags of talent and very natural, some of the songs he writes are fantastic, this is a pretty good one.

dpb 29 January 2015 07:43 AM

How many songs has she penned btw , in her capacity

Of "singer~songwriter "

She wrote all but one of the songs on her debut album, why?

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Ed Sheeran "I See Fire" [HD] - YouTube

I like Mr. Sheeran's music. Mind you, some Hendrix fans dislike him for the reason that he shouldn't have bothered covering sacred Hendrix in his early days; apparently quite poorly. I personally haven't heard that, so I do not know.

Thinking Out Loud was the song of his that stole my ears, and since then, I'm a fan.

I've not heard the Hendrix cover, but I wouldn't hold it against him if done poorly. He's very talented and kudos to anyone that can come up with the kind of songs that he does, I also love acoustic guitar solo's, I get a real sense of a person and the feeling they have for their music, it's something he does really well.

lozgti1 29 January 2015 08:45 AM

Talented with a nice voice for sure, but compare it to the proper Great Big World /Christina Aguilera version, bit of a gap.

Mind you, this is from a man who was moved by Susan Boyle's audition all that time ago:lol1:

ditchmyster 29 January 2015 09:08 AM

She's growing on me, this is good.

Owd up a min off to get the right one.

Here you go.

Turbohot 29 January 2015 04:02 PM

I like Paloma Faith.

Eccentric, entertaining and refreshing.

ScoobyJawa 29 January 2015 04:59 PM

She's the reason I told the wife I refuse to have Xfactor on in the same room as me.

The year she was on she was by a massive margin the best singer there, and was voted off. Fixed. Joke.

My mates (and kids!) all laugh at me 'cos I have her version of Wild Horses on my favourite playlist.

They don't know what they're missing - it's a fantastic cover.

I don't watch it, but someone told me about her and I watched back her X Factor performances on YouTube and they are all fantastic. I don't know who beat her or how, but she should have won by a country mile IMO! I think she is twice the singer Leona Lewis is for example, but that's just me.

Susan Boyle... she's a great radio performer ;)

Zip is right about Wild Horses though. It is a great version!

She's not in the same league as Leona. :nono:

She is for me as I don't like fake manufactured clones of Mariah Carey, come to that I don't like Mariah Carey... that maybe the issue here. :D

I am not saying Ella is technically a better singer than Leona, but for me she is more.... down to earth I guess is the only way I can put it. I can look at her and think if I met you we could have a chat whereas Leona.... we'd have nothing to say to each other as she has been bitten by the celebrity bug and I would be a nuisance to her (yes I know I am a nuisance to you all already :lol1:)

I think that Ella's apparent 'normal girl' personality shines through in her music and I like it.
