Nice one, this is on the newage, wiper in and working, just to get these boys in .

Might come picking you brains at some stage :D:D

Someone sent me a wiring diagram for my car.
I had to link into the output of fuse 15, then run a wire to the wiper motor and pump.
Earthing it was done locally and the stalk wiring to fuse box was in place.

The hardest part was getting someone to remove the old windscreen and replace with a JDM one with the hole.

My stuff came as a kit" from Grade A, £200, including screen, stalks, wiper motor and arm, washer bottle, pump and piping.

I thought it was a decent deal.

but WHY did the Japs remove it, and loads of other stuff, ...then sell us our lesser specced cars for £7000 more?

Screen Wiper and motor already installed.

Just the switches to put in.

Hoping even though they are on oposite sides the plugs will simply swap. :Suspiciou

Am I hoping for too much there?:wonder:

Might be.......you might have to free up the wiring a bit.
Let's hope the plugs are the same.

Keeping an eye on this thread as it's a mod is like to do :)

First job clearly was to get the rear screens swapped over and fit the wiper motor.

The motor is held in with 3 bolts, two of the threaded locations are already in the boot, the third is only on the JDM a cars however all holds in place very sturdy and I'm not worried about it.

I may at some stage fabricate a bracket but in no rush

Ignore the wiring this was just to test it all worked ok.

Mine had two bolts and was screwed to the rear screen with a threaded part on the wiper arm pivot.

The only problem I've had is the rear screen leaked and had to be removed and resealed.

No leaks from this screen, watched them bond it in, if this one leaks it will be clever water lol :D

UPDATE

Today I took the cowls off the steering column to see how much slack there was in the looms to swop sides.

ample:thumb:

So I unplgged the wiper side and offered it up to the JDM set,

plug fitted :thumb:

Turned the ignition on and tried the JDM wiper arm

Pushing the rear wash button the front wipers wipe :lol1::lol1::lol1:

Putting the wipers to fast speed the front washer jets let lose :lol1::lol1::lol1:

Ho hum, Tried the same for the light arm

They did nothing but cause the indicator relay to buzz :wonder:

The good bit is the Parking light loom plugs straight in and works perfectly :luxhello::luxhello::luxhello:

Ok so the challenge is now to work out the pin outs from the arms and switch them all around in the steering column loom plug....:Whatever_

This is going to be fun.. watch this space...

Then get some proper wheels... Job done :)

Cpt Jack Sparrow 30 January 2015 02:53 PM

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

To be honest I want to spend money on the brakes before wheels, the wheels will do for now, brakes will not...

.

alcazar 30 January 2015 06:17 PM

Might be a "both at the same time" thing.

depending what you have now, decent brakes may not fit.

Brembos, for example will NOT go under front WRX wheels, whereas they WILL go under the rears.

Godspeed used to do some slightly smaller Brembo 4-pot calipers, but I don't think he does now.
