Bonnet cable broke

Hey guys I went to pop my hood today on my 2008 wrx Sti and the dreaded ping of my cable snapped,

Is there a way I can pop my hood without taking the front off??

I have had the same happen to me - I have a 2007 hawkeye, any idea how to open it up?
