WHY are governmemnt websites such sh1te?
(Rant mode: ON)
Been on the DART website today, AGAIN. This is my EIGTH try. I go through five or six pages of crap, fill it all in, check that I've read and accepted etc etc etc etc...then it says" You have failed the identity check. Please go back and re-enter details". THEN you go back, to find it has wiped almost all the fields. So you re-enter the fekkin lot, check again and yes...you fail the identity check again.  Had ANOTHER four goes tonite, that makes well over twenty now! Even contacting them is a stupid fukc-up....boxes with no character limit shown, but exceed the invisible limit they have, they start entering crap into boxes you have already filled in, foooking up the whole form! Who the fook designs these sites? I wouldn't care but I'm TRYING to give them money.........:cuckoo: (rant mode: OFF) |
Someone who has wrangled on the budget paperwork at least, a figure 4 or 5 times more than the market average I imagine. Navigating HMRC or DVLA sites, especially the Contact Us bit is infuriating. No provision for email on HMRC. It's difficult so you don't try.....

I totally agree .... I used the dartford bridge / tunnel the night before last only remembered to pay at 11pm last night went on to pay and its such an odd way to do it ?
Also didn't recognise my vehicle reg ? Shocking site |
Hmrc have fooked up iPhone app , as far as I can tell
And what was wrong with automated class 2 Too easy I suppose |
I find them pretty good on the whole
pre-registered my cars on the dart tag site a year or to ago no problems at all DVLA/VED site - brilliant imv |
I agree with hodgy (  )
I registered our cars on Dart as soon as it started, likewise TfL for Congestion Charge, so never have to worry about forgetting to pay. RFL is so simple and even more so now that I've gone monthly Direct Debit. I submitted my partner's Self Assessment last week without too much trouble, though I found the identity checker was a bit of a pain. Only thing there is that it tells you how much tax is due but doesn't tell you how much you have already prepaid, so what the balance is now and what is due to pay for the first part of next year. I've also got a tag for the French m/ways and another for the Severn Crossing - a little bit of forethought can save loads of time/queuing... |

I find the information on the MOT site can prove to be too honest for some sellers :D

Create an account, register your cars and you will get notification of your crossing balance and a warning when it needs topping up. When it does need topping up select the log in and then select make a payment, quite neat I thought :thumb:
