Fitting new brake kit

Hey folks purchased front and rear ap racing brakes from matty on here for my 06 sti

I'm Wondering if this is an easy enough job to do myself as I've been quoted 8 hours by a local shop

Is there anything specific I should be aware of

Thanks

Steve

Wow 8 hours, Fronts are straight forward so say 45 mins a side, rears maybe a little longer but there's not much in it, Then just a case of bleeding them which is a 2 man job unless you get one of the kits...but keep an eye on fluid level if you are doing it yourself as the ap's will shift some fluid and you dont want air in there.

I'd allow drama from removing the Brembos'.

They're buggers for seizing and most people need them drilling and coiling at somepoint in their lifecycle.

You may be lucky and find they've already been done!

As above, plus, if fitting new/braided/longer brake lines, you may find that they don't undo easily at the upper connection on the wings, and it can lead to a need to renew non-flexible lines:(

Cheers for the info guys

The car has had new braided lines about 1500 miles ago so these should hopefully come straight off and be replaced by the ap braided lines

Unless there lines are interchangeable and I'd just leave them on

The car had new discs and pads fitted 1500 miles ago so the calipers should remove quite easily?

Hi there

As above 8 hour job for replacing the brakes is bit too much,I would say for front 2-2 1/2 hours and at back maybe less, but this depends as above said guys

Thanks,Jura

i would ensure that any competent garage/fitter will be able to check the "run-out" of the rotors to prevent any issues on install..........if they look blank walk away
