ECU help needed please

Hi all

Im hoping someone can guide me in the right direction, basically i bought a 1997 wrx import lastyear i have completely rebuilt the engine and upgraded a few items along the way ie; 440cc injectors, FMIC, lightweight flywheel, full exhaust etc etc and its now running and i need to run it in before remapping etc but the ecu in it at the moment is a rubbish prova ecu and some genius has put the sticker over its original numbers so i dont know what ecu number it is as standard. its a 1997 wrx import v3 3 yellow plug ecu.
I am thinking of putting a STI ecu in for the 'running in' while i save up for an esl set up.

Thanks in advance

Aaron.

Id pop the old injectors back in and use your original ecu that was with the car until it is run in, then swap the injectors over before the remap.

I have the V3 WRX TypeRA which has the 6s ecu afaik yours should have the w6 as stock ecu

@jdm_stig i did think about that, just trying to weigh my options up lol. @ossett2k2 i have PM'd you

It should be a 1S ECU as stock. What does the blue label on the yellow plugs say?

Apologies for the mis information,I wrote a lot of stuff down when looking into ecu types,ESL and mapping ect. My info came from the TypeRA timeline section over on their forum! Seems like their info is not always correct as it states the MY97 WRX has the W6 ecu.

No worries, W6 is a 4 plug IIRC.
