Ecutek newage wrx ecu

Taken from my 2005 blob WRX 300, 2.0.

Standard ECU with Ecutek licence installed (cheaper remaps/tweaks ;-)) Car was running STI Pink injectors, VF34, FMIC, 1.4bar 320bhp very safely and not limited to one fuel/forecourt. ECU dry stored for the past 18ish months as running alkatek ECU. I started the car on the ECU today to check all is ok.

Asking £140

Cheers,

Hi mate

Just wondering did your turbo come on full boost before 4000 rpm as i have a 2005 wrx blob and similar set up too you i have sti tmic sti pinks 3 port boost walbro fuel pump decat up and downpipe and vf35 turbo also 320 bhp ish no print out i find mine very laggy and turbo comes on smooth not pining me too the seat like my old td04 did if your ecu was better than that i would be interested in buying you can get me on here or email
philip_watkinson@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks

Yeah, fully boost was just under 4k rpm, but when in this range it was pretty punchy. All comes down to the map though really. My vf34 would prob get close to 360-380 when pushed. A Subaru blob ecu is a Subaru blob ecu. The magic comes in the mapping. This ecu has an Ecutek licence if your mapper uses ecutek software to achieve the potential, you should not just drop it on another engine.

Hi mate
thanks for reply mine was mapped at the time of upgrades and it boosts on and off in 4th and 5th i think i need to get it mapped again based on your results looks like mine was a crap map and it cost me 400 my car is tame now compared to the torque and response on the td04 that was on it that was mapped at 275 and was
brilliant low down pinned me to my seat the vf35 dosnt do that at all its a smooth delivery and doesnt feel much faster if at all just keeps pulling until redline where the td04 dropped off mid way thats only difference ive noticed i expected much more maybe too much but im tempted to put td04 back on ive been looking for a hybrid td04 but having no luck and andy forest doesnt sell them anymore

I hear you. The VF34 is a better turbo with a roller bearing over the VF35 thrust bearing IIRC - resulting in quicker spool. Also the housing is bigger delivering more top end power for longer. I know that many have upgraded to VF34 from VF35 and td04 with good results.

Just dug out my dyno charts:
1bar @ 3600
1.2bar @ 3750
1.4bar @ 4000
Mapped 1.5 bar to the redline then reduced to 1.4.

VF34 @ 1.2 bar would expect the same power as VF35 @ 1.4 bar.

Maybe your spool expectations are a little high of the VF35?

I suggest a thread in the appropriate section to get further opinions ;-)

Did you get an Ecutek licence on your ECU? This ECU will cost less than buying the licence for yours ;-)
