Chest Freezer recommendations.
Seasons greetings and a happy new year to one and all.
I need to get myself a chest freezer so thought where/who better to ask than the NSR Massives.:D Experiences and recommendations and what to look for welcome along with any brands / models to avoid please. |
This will probably go against the NSR grain here but.. when I needed one a few years back, I just bought the cheapest I could find. It wasn't on view and IMO just needed to keep food frozen!
it lasted several years, and is now in a friends garage doing just as well. From memeory I paid about £60 for it. |
I chose an Ice King, when I needed a freezer to store in the detached garage.

Chest freezers don't have a complicated job tbh, they are, in white goods terms, a bit of a one trick pony
Ours has sat in the garage for 5 years, keeping things very cold, it has recently been moved to my tool shed (still keeping things very cold) because we are developing the garage into a kitchen At a guess it is a hotpoint - but it is big and keeps things cold (and is white) |
Cheapest one you can buy, they are so basic that if the only major component(compressor) packs in, you are as well scrapping it anyway.

OK you've all managed to convince the cheap skate in me.:D
Thanks for the replies.:thumb: |
