Quote "But the victim's father-in-law, Terry Rutledge, denied she had been careless. "She was not the least bit irresponsible,""

Yes of course.
Maybe she just hadn't heard about the safety catch.

Tragic waste of a life.

Have you ever tried to explain that guns are dangerous to a American, they actual believe that guns make their lives safer. :brickwall:brickwall:brickwall

Indeed. Only saving grace is he's quite young and it may well not destroy his little mind.

I know a chap in his 60's who was telling me how one of his siblings killed the other with a 12g shotgun when they were kids. Messing about with their fathers gun and shot him point blank in the face. The guy was telling me this welling up! He'd watched it happen as a little boy and said he's lived with it every day.

Shocking, no matter how many gun accidents, incidents or whatever, Americans just won't wake up to the fact that it's their guns laws that cause it.

Feel so sorry for the little boy. Hopefully he is never told the full truth!

I shouldn't say it because I shouldn't have to but, genuinely, this sort of news no longer shocks/surprises me. In fact, multiple shootings over there are becoming more common....or at least my spidey senses say they are. Not a lot pops up mentioning this trend though. I wonder if social media has fuelled news like this coming out more readily or if it is just happening more often. Anyway, general public carrying loaded guns in public places......daft idea! Call me British but I don't suspect my fellow Brit is going to shoot me whilst I shop at Next. Long may that continue.
