Trick up pipe

What benefits would I see if I fitted a Harvey up pipe to my p1 with a std vf28 and headers?

Is it worth fitting when the engine out for the faster spool alone? Not looking for big power gains but a faster spool would be nice.

I think Alyn as performance will be the one to answer your question as he sells them and knows what they achieve on what type of build.

I'd suggest saving and buying the whole lot together already wrapped from him and save a fortune on labour when fitted.

I have one on my car and spoke to one of the best tuners in the UK, who said it only makes a tiny difference to spoil.

After that I started thinking, I and probably most people change the up pipe at the same time as other things, followed by a map, so its hard to tell how much of a difference the up pipe itself has made.

If I had to do it again, I think I would save my money and not bother with a Harvey trick pipe. If I had a WRX, I would just go with the much cheaper STI catless up pipe.

I changed only the uppipe to add to my mods and is now spooling 500 rpm sooner through out the range !

Has the car got the standard up pipe?.
