which clutch for 430bhp 2.5 blob?
i have a blob sti with a forged 2.5 and gt30 turbo running around 430/440
it has a 6 paddle clutch in it at the min and i hate it the car is just a fast road car-no track work,is there a non paddle clutch for this power or do i have to have a paddle clutch? |
I've been looking at the act or competition clutch for the best. (Well not the best but for my options)
But my budget says pink box, but I'm worried it might not be enough |

Not sure without hovering bobs website, but not that cheap.

Ap also do a good clutch kit that isn't paddle ,, my mates got one in his 600bhp 2.35 and it feels great for such a high spec clutch

How about exedy twin plate?
Tried and tested, time and time again. Would be well up to the job mate |
Exedy pink box will be ok.

I'd like to see that do a full bore launch on the drag strip.
To be honest I advised to go for a twin plate like I have but he had others advising him aswell lol ,,, for the cost involved its a very good buy as long as you can put up without launching it as it drives like a oe clutch really :thumb: |
To be honest shreksta I'm running very similar numbers in my hatch sti and I'm still on the original clutch ,, same with my hawkeye sti was running the same numbers on a oe clutch without any problems or slipping ,, didn't ever launch them but being road cars I never felt the need to ,, if I wasn't going for more power I'd stick with the oe clutches and just replace when needed as the one in the hawkeye lasted over 2 years and still felt the same when I traded it in so may of last a lot longer lol

A pink box for your intended use mate "spirited road driving" would be fine.Remember it's torque that destroys clutches,so no 7k launches Lol.What has been said about the O.E clutch above is true i was running 400+ on one it was torn up when i changed it though Lol but lasted a couple of years or so,so the pink box exedy sounds like it would be a perfect fit for your car.SJ.

I've been running the Stage 2 Competition Clutch. Had mine fitted last year and has been good, plus price is reasonable. Drives nicely too.

which one is this matey?
http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog...cturers_id=109 But I know APi and Aztec stock these too - at the time I bought SWorld were best value. I commute on mine and it has been just the ticket after a horrible heavy Helix jobby. |
