Right who do we trust to get my blob remapped and running nice

As anyone who follows my posts will know my car hasnt been looked after but now its mine ive pretty much got it the way i want her, after xmas i want it on the rollers and get it mapped so who is trusted to do a good job for me pretty local

cheers guys and gals

gazzawrx 23 December 2014 06:49 PM

I use duncan to map my blob sti and he seems to be doing a descent job of it so far

joe v3sti 23 December 2014 07:30 PM

In your part of the world, Andrew Carr. Smashing bloke who is very very good at what he does. Not far from you at all

Andaru 23 December 2014 10:27 PM

I use Andy Forest, him Bob Rawle or JGM (RIP) are the only ones I'd look at TBH. Tore my engine down a 120k and no sign of any detonation whatsoever.

angel1368 24 December 2014 08:28 AM

thank you very much guys will look into all recommendations , only place i know by me is group b motorsport and was waiting to see if anyone mentioned them

imprezagaz 24 December 2014 08:39 AM

I've used Scoobyclinic a few times with good results. Mapped on the rollers and road tested. There in Chesterfield but I'm sure it's worth the drive

Dibbles00 24 December 2014 11:49 AM

I asked Paul from Zen Performance to map my blob. He did an amazing job.
Originally I was going to ask Bob Rawl, but he didn't have the means to fit my exhaust or sort out some teething issues. Now that the car is all sorted, I would have no hesitation using Bob in the future.

Steve Whitehorn 24 December 2014 12:08 PM

Pat Herbourne
Martyn at Engine Tuner
Are two others

Currently I use Duncan

Reshard1977 24 December 2014 07:07 PM

I've had maps from Paul at Zen, Duncan Race Dynamic, Simon JGM (RIP), Rich at FBTuninh and Neil from Slowboy racing, they all did a good job, but the best of these is without doubt Paul at Zen.

Paul made the car drive very smoothly, took the time to get it spot on, is good value for money, best part is that he made it powerfully and fuel efficient at the same time!

scoobyreedy 24 December 2014 07:28 PM

Martin at engine tuner has mapped both of my Scoobys and done a grand job

Can i ask why you have gone throu so many mappers please

angel1368 24 December 2014 08:51 PM

Suppose gotta go through them till he finds "the one" who he is extremely happy to keep with

Blocks85 24 December 2014 09:30 PM

Martyn @ ET has mapped my 04 blob Sti 7 times Over the last 3 1/2 years through 4 turbo changes and now on a gt3076 making 434/400, and still on the standard engine/clutch which is @ 98k miles. Car has done 11k hard track miles, 3 ring trips/mlr sprint/time attack, endless track evens and still running perfect as ever.
That speaks for itesef I believe.
Cheers Chris

Bob rawle is the only mapper I let map my scoobs , he has mapped 5 diffrent scoobs for me over the years and each car has driven faultless from classic right up to my fly by wire hatch and he has helped me out whenever needed including going right out of his way to help me and friends whenever there has been problem we couldn't get around , he mapped my race car that spent 5-6 years being ragged about on every track and airfield I could get to and it never missed a beat once , he has mapped countless of my friends cars from standard right up to 700+BHP without any problems aswell

There are other mappers out there that will be more than capable of doing the job but bob is the man for me every time

Fat Boy 26 December 2014 04:50 PM

RCM will only use Paul Blamire at Zen for their Gobstopper cars. That should tell you something.

scoobyreedy 26 December 2014 05:32 PM

2 Scoobys and Martin j at engine tuner has mapped both, been around the Scooby scene for a while now and think the guys at enginetuner are really coming into there own now

Andyrad 31 December 2014 09:42 PM

Andrew Carr has done 6 of mine

BoozyDave 31 December 2014 10:06 PM

racedynamics has mapped mine 4 times and I've always been pleased with the results

I have been to scoobyclinic a few times and seen Pat mapping a few of my mates cars, they have always been pleased with results (not just the willy waving BHP figure, but the midrange drivability of the car too)

scoobyclinic have had some great motorsport wins this year, their car (plus driver) even beat Ken cock at what he does best.

Pick someone who is recommended but close to you. There's no point in travelling to the other end of the country. You'll notice that people only recommend tuners that they've used so there is little for them to compare the service too. As I said pick someone close as you maybe returning several times. I've used Engine Tuner (Martyn J) and they were ok. If I were elsewhere in the country I would have used someone else.

Some of us have used more than one or two mappers but that doesn't mean I would recommend them all :thumb:

Mark10sti 05 January 2015 09:43 AM

I live in the north of England and personally used Bob Rawle as he came very highly recommended.
I don't know if it would be helpful then to list the tuners and where they are then, when someone wants one and the advice is go close to home then it will make the process easier?

this. Ive used most of the names mentioned here

stevebt 05 January 2015 08:17 PM

Andy Forrest and Paul Blamire are two of the best mappers I have used as they both give a nice aggressive car. I have used a lot more people for mapping over the years but they will definitely make you smile.

He mapped my car recently and I am very happy with it!
