Would it be wrong to assume that the cost of exploration and extraction have risen considerably since then, squeezing margins further what with the price of oil as it currently stands and thus affecting the sustainability/viability of the North Sea oil industry?

Another multi-national,multi-billion dollar industry complaining & moaning the instant it looks like they won't make even more money than before.You can imagine the board-room conversations 'Oh dear it will be a tough Christmas this year.I only made £10 million instead of £15 million'.

They have been raking in the the wealth at the expense of the consumer for years.
