New member coming back to Subaru!

Hello,
I ordered a new BRZ last month & it got me thinking how much I miss the thrill of Impreza ownership. I had 4 Imprezas in the past & sadly the last one I had was stolen & written off when only 12 weeks old!!!

To cut a long story short I purchased a really tidy, totally original, low-mileage, 1-owner from new, 1999, green mica classic Turbo 2000 saloon yesterday (phew!!).

I'm hoping to keep this stunning car in a condition that the previous, fastidious owner would approve of & look forward to picking up hints & tips from the experts on here! :hjtwofing

Mine will be garaged over the winter but sadly not in a heated garage!

I've given my car a quick wash since getting it home & it is in great condition but I'm confident that a proper 2-bucket wash, clay bar & Iron-X decontamination followed by a couple of applications of Dodo Juice wax will improve things.

I will post some pictures when done..... :D

I have had my classic for over 14 years since new now

Keep an eye on the rust on the arches
Even mine has some now and will be going in for treatment soon

Keep the engine bay spotless and plenty wax in the bodywork

Thanks for the advice - the arches are fine at the moment as are the A-pillars & the top of the windscreen. I was amazed by the number of classics for sale that are suffering from corrosion in these locations!

I washed loads of mud & general cr@p out of the rear arches today which can only be a good thing?!?

Roll on the weekend & I can get the car ready for winter! :thumb:
