Looking at Tracker web site. Have to have one fitted for insurance.

The marketing makes me laugh. They quote a figure of cost to me in the event of my car being stolen and not returned. So really I am saving money on getting one fitted!

Then various claims of getting your car back in 1,2,3hrs. Woppee do after some turd has thraped the hell out of it and who knows what else, bashed it into kerbs, ripped out the stez, worn my tyres out etc etc.

OK it may stop my car dissappearing forever but I certainly wont save any money etc.

You get the gist of what I am saying...

Just find the marketing a bit annoying.

I see your point but look at it this way, car gets tracked, police pick up scum who nicked car, scum belong to a large crime ring doing this to lots of cars (inc scoobs) scum get sent down for long time.
Get the point now? ;)

Be careful what tracker you get. I got told that I needed tracker for insurance by Priviledge, got retrieve fitted and then they told me that they didn't cover that model.

Check first cause it really PI*&ed me off, luckily the threat of job losses etc got me insured.

Yes, it seems that the insurance companies are moving towards only accepting GPS based Tracking systems :( . It's for this reason that I have just chosen RAC Trackstar over Tracker Monitor.

If you want a "Tracker" product, I would now only buy the Tracker Horizon (which is both LF Radio and GPS).

Matt :)

I think the insurance companies are only accepting pro-active trackers now i.e ones that inform you the car is being moved.

and on top of that, some are only accepting GPS based ones...

Tesco and direct line both accept tracker retreive It is listed on the online insurance bit when you get a quote.

I know Direct Line accept NavTrak. If your car is fitted already they'll accept both their systems. If your buying a new system then its got to be their Proactive
