Gearbox whine
 

Anyone had any gearbox whines in a uk turbo 2000 classic..can only hear mine in 2nd 3rd between 1500 and 3000rpm..any suggestions on the problem/solution?

Yep had that on mine a few years ago then it went pop and shat second gear !

Was the car driveable?

Listen out at about 5mins 45sec huge bang

My first box went out like that....this one whines at diffrent times in rev range.

Mine was whining for a few track days before then bang

Yeah stop driving and get it checked

Sounds like it's on its way out though

Mine whines under engine braking and has done so for about 20k, done 2 sprits one drag day and the Ring in that time as well as 4 x 1200 miles across Europe, still waiting for the bang. :lol1:
