headers

its probably been asked before but I cant find anything in the search bar. My question is what are the benefits of fitting tubular headers over standard?

Flow better, standard ones restrictive unless ported and below 400bhp roughly. Speak to Alan at as performance

MrNoisy 24 November 2014 03:00 PM

More torque, slightly better flow BUT on a smaller turbo you may lose spool

As has been said the uprated exhaust manifold will just give better flow to remove exhaust gasses.

400bhp is about the break point for flow vs spool.
take advice from alyn at AS Performance.
Consider also the Harvey up-pipe.

Below 400ish ported standard headers are great and perfectly fine espcially with a good uppipe like a harvey smith trick uppipe.
