Inlet Manifold Spacers?
Hi All,
I'm thinking of fitting a set of inlet manifold spacers when my engine is re-fitted. Has anyone used them and thoughts please? Are they worth considering? Thanks, Lee |

Ideally you want a set of insulator brackets for your header tank too and do the throttle body coolant bypass then your inlet will stay nice and cool. They are also handy as they give about 10mm more room under the inlet.

Thanks for the reply FMJ, Good idea on the header tank spacers, handnt thought of that. Not heard of the throttle body coolant bypass??? Any more info please? Also, not found O ring ones, just ones which need 4 gaskets or scoobyclinic ones with built in gaskets, need to look into these. Cheers, Lee |
There's a water pipe that goes to and from the throttle body, just disconnect each side and join the pipes together, is how to do it. :thumb:

Where is the best place to purchase the manifold spacers and whats the max size you can go on a newage ?? After fitting my new turbo my inlet pipe has a fair restriction where its fouling the edge of the manifold and im sure this would help a bit.

Just to clarify when I said o rings I meant the ones with channels cut in them with rubber seals. They are in fact just circular o rings pushed into the grooves. You can easily source viton o rings of the same size to replace worn ones later rather then expensive Subaru specific gaskets. I got mine on eBay from advanced auto motives who are top notch. Think mine are 10mm.

I had the same problem with a Viper Performance inlet hose when I changed from a 20g to an SC42 and changed to a Perrin hose - it has a better design and curve at the turbo end and doesn't kink against the manifold.
