Thank feck for that :)

I think I had an afterburner vortex on mine. I eventually chucked the f*cking thing in the bin and put the standard STI back box on. It was a million times better and doesn't piss me and all the neighbours off anymore. The downside is that it takes me 0.04 seconds longer to get to work.

Switch it off :)

can you live with that though isnt that about a lifetime in scooby ownership lol, so sti backbox and whats the rest of your exhaust and does it still give a burble?

just buy a resonated centre section. that will make it quieter without loosing the burble :thumb:

In my particular case I was completely standard bar the backbox which was the only mod that the previous owner had made. He did it simply to amplify the burble, and it bloody did to the extreme. The burble is still there now, it's just a whole lot more subtle and makes driving the car a far more pleasant experience and much more socially acceptable. To be honest, I really can't tell a difference in performance.

I only posted because it's refreshing to hear that I am not the only person that doesn't feel the need for stupid exhausts on this forum.

fk me, if i had that id be scared of losing one of the kids up it when they play out

fat-thomas 22 November 2014 10:45 PM

sound apart that exhaust looks sh1t, angle doesnt work on newages.
bin it and put a sensible resonated system on it.

JayUK91 22 November 2014 11:28 PM

A resonated centre would do you wonders. If you don't want to revert to a completely standard sound, pick up a backbox by the likes of Prodrive or TSL - better than stock, but not loud.

JGlanzaV 23 November 2014 08:50 AM

Japspeed will do a whole system mine is track day legal so still a little loud but not horribly so

JGlanzaV 23 November 2014 08:53 AM

This is with no interior etc so would be alot quieter on a normal car

I wouldnt compare outside sounds too much as mine uses a totally different manifold etc, it will keep the burble on yours though :)

cheers for all the info and help guys, how many pieces will a full wrx exhaust come in, is it 1 up pipe, 1 middle pipe and 1 backbox or am i missing something?

riiidaa 24 November 2014 06:16 PM

down pipe, not up pipe, changing the up pipe involves taking the turbo out
