blobeye management light up after stood still 1wk!!

Hi guys.
Are there any common issues that would cause the management light to stay on after being stood still a week, that seem to have no effect on the running of the car.
Just took it up the road a short distance, stopped and started it a few times, but light is still on!!.
I don't want to push things too far, so to speak, so wondered if there are any ideas.
Thanks.

Hang on a second while i close my eyes and read your ECU and tell you what the fault is.......

I can clear the fault while I'm at it if you want also?

Get it plugged in to a reader and find out what the fault is, instead of taking it for a spin!

only noticed it as i drove out the drive, and if i had something to plug it into tonight iw wouldn't be asking.
I know that in one of my other cars, there is a common prob relating to similar that has a sequence to follow that clears it without driving or need of a pc. But that's a different model altogether and only came up as a discussion with other members on a forum.
Hence i was wondering if there is something similar that members on here might throw light too.

Therefore not such a stupid question, but one of caution, as i also need to drive it to somewhere in next few days.

Useful comments would be appreciated, or even suggestions for who in my area might be able to assist that knows what they are doing (near Plymouth)

Thanks folks.

Thanks Jack.
Just been out to move her as employee had to get her car out, and guess what... no light on. Mystery has become more of a mystery.
Will take her to where you suggested and get it checked out anyhow, just incase there's a trace of some issue.

Thanks again.

You can get a reader from ebay pretty cheaply which should show the historic fault code. :)

Ayde 15 November 2014 09:51 AM

Was it idling high/rough when you first started it? Possible idle control valve? Fault code P1507, it can happen when they've been standing. I got an RAC code reader from Argos a few years ago, was on offer at the time. Worth while having one, just don't shout about it because the lads in work are always asking to borrow mine now!:)

Honestly fella, after having if checked, get yourself a obd2 bluetooth reader on eBay. They are less than £10. At least you can then find out what codes are logged.

pmsl.. right there.

Thanks guys.
Will get one of these readers early part of week and get busy with it.

Just had a nice drive out and shes running beautifully, no light on.

When light did come on she didn't show any signs of anything a miss. The only reason i didn't notice light until out of drive was my little boy misbehaving, then watching for traffic to pull out. As soon as i drove 20yrds i seen it on and stopped, started again to see if it was clear. Then i had to go half a mile or more before i could turn round and return to park her up. Hence the short run.

Appreciate the pointers folks. :thumb:

Nice to meet you today Jager.. and your new mustang (got me thinking about another yank now).
Appreciate your help mate, even though technical failure intervened.
Now, get studying lol.

Jager223 16 November 2014 06:51 PM

No problem mate, nice to meet you too. Bloody cheap Chinese rubbish! Enjoy the car.

Nunu31 16 November 2014 07:21 PM

I had a problem like this on a 07 hawk, was moisture getting into knock sensor which was bringing on ecu light. Don't know why people can't just try n help!! 👍

hawky666 16 November 2014 09:08 PM

Cheers for the input Nunu31.
Will add it to things to watch out for, even if not now, handy to know for future ref.

Norman Dog 17 November 2014 07:21 PM

Did you find the fault code? :wonder:

Nunu31 17 November 2014 08:59 PM

Nahhh sorry can't remember it. :)

hawky666 18 November 2014 07:24 PM

Not found anything yet Norman as the reader we tried had a fault itself and didn't work.
My landy broke down on me also and been sorting that all day yesterday and today.
Will get back onto scooby soon, but currently she's running with no issue and no light, so all is well.
Will be buying a code reader for myself i expect. When i get a code, i will share all.
