As usual, it's been discussed many times before but due to lack of search.....blah blah blah.....

Chaps, now that I've finally got an outside tap fitted at the front of the house, it would be rude not to purchase a Jet Washer to keep the car and bike clean more ;):D

I will probably use it about once a week so presumably doesn't need to be a heavy duty one or anything so I guess I would like to know what's a good make/what features are important/what's good VFM/where to buy?

Anyone help?

Cheers,

Matt :)

Matt, im sure i read in the paper yesterday that Halfords are doing a deal on their Karcher washers over the weekend.

I myself use the Karcher 520 and its a cracking piece of kit.Think its reduced from £200-£150. (sorry i cant find the paper to verify)

I got one and it did take off a 1cm area on the bumper - in seconds. I still use it but very cautiously. Good for getting the bugs off, just hope there are no paint anomalies at all on your bumper first - few have none at all, if so avoid them.

Trucker Ted,

see http://www.halfords.com/specialoffers.asp for the Halfords offer.

I've got a Karcher one, not the most expensive, bur it does the job! :D also makes cleaning under the arches easy! ;)

BOB.T 02 June 2002 04:17 PM

Karcher, briliant:D

Big Goon 02 June 2002 04:55 PM

Yup Karcher deffo, get the spare bits and parts anywhere,

Halfords are clearing out the old range by looks of it, in B&Q they had a smart barrel shaped Karcher for 200 quid, Halfords only had the upright kind for the same money, barrel is a lot neater to store away and came with the twirly brush thing.

agree, get a karcher.

however, be warned, bought a new real high pressure nozzle which spins around funking quick. just stripped the paint stright of my dads jag. doh. Stay with the standard attachments for car washing!!!

We've got one of those karcher barrel ones, not sure on the model number without going out to the garage in the rain, but it's excellent, very powerful and cleans really well, best of all, it's great fun :D it's also nice and neat for when you've finished.

Thanks guys. I popped into Halfords today on the way to a BBQ and bought the 520M/K5 and got £20 off (which is better than a slap in the face ;):) ).

Cheers,

Matt :)
