Away with the Bmw, time for a Subaru

After years of wanting a Subaru and ending up with two 350z the 2nd being supercharged I now have a Bmw 330d E92 and have decided its time to finally get my Subaru. I've done research numerous times before, scrolled through countless pages on here and American forums. I'm looking for a Blobeye Sti DCCD prefered, hopefully going to make a close to 400hp monster... wish me luck!

Don't need luck mate... Subaru FTW !

400bhp is hardly a monster around here these days, pretty run of the mill actually, you need to be at least 500bhp before you start getting into the monster category and that would be in a Classic that is 200kg lighter than the lardy barge your planing on doing it to.:lol1:

Anyway welcome aboard and good luck.:thumb:

Oh and watch out for "Project Creep" it's expensive. ;)

A mini monster it will have to be, tunings addictive maybe it will develop into something bigger, no fat passengers that will be my weight saving

Welcome, what's your budget?

Leosille 26 October 2014 03:50 PM

Around 7-8k for the car and starting with 3-4k for the tuning hopefully i'll be able to pick up most parts second hand, I want a stock car or as close to. Low mileage and good history is what im after.

Hello and welcome.
7-8k for a low mileage widetrack . . . hmmm.
I believe there is another member on here looking for the same thing with the same budget . . . . for the last 8 months or so.

Good plan.

Just sold my wife's low mileage 2009 130i Sport & picked up a low mileage 2005 Widetrack.

Pretty much a swap. Given both cars were similar in value new good depreciation on the Scoob.

I was looking for 9 months. Low miles cars sold very quickly with best price still north of £10k with some garages/specialists chancing it at £15k.

Worth it for the power delivery alone none of this namby pamby low pressure turbo nonsense.

Ohhh and the Noise don't get me started.

As much as i'd like a widetrack as its got the updates but I'm happy with a standard sti. The BMW goes for sale in the next week and then i'll be hoping to find something to suit my needs, but will put down a deposit if the right car comes up sooner. The parts list is almost complete already for stage 1 of my tuning. :norty:

I've had 4 classic Impreza's since 2006 and about 3/4 cars ago had my last. Currently got a 57 E92 plate 330D. Admittedly it's not a new age like you're after bit if you want any comparisons for ownership, feel free to drop me a PM.
