Might try find a cheap boot in blue as I kind of like it with no spoiler

The Trooper 1815 17 October 2014 10:39 PM

Nothing wrong with a bit of a clean up.

Sarg400 17 October 2014 10:47 PM

My spoiler was off a few weeks ago getting detailed & I liked the look of it without the spoiler on :)

Silver Scooby Sport 18 October 2014 10:28 AM

Good Job Lee... You have another alternative for the short term have some circular blue decals run off and cover the holes :)

The Stitcher 18 October 2014 02:50 PM

Good thought I like that idea saves buying a new boot lid

Silver Scooby Sport 18 October 2014 04:03 PM

It gives you chance to get used to it then, it's a wrx boot you need with the small wing for less holes.

The Stitcher 18 October 2014 08:36 PM

After cleaning the dirt off it seems where all the grit etc has gone under the spoiler and where it must move when the wing flex has pitted the lid and also the safety straps that holds the top of the spoiler to the bottom they rust and left marks on boot so think I will touch them up and 're fit when I have five mins and just get a wrx boot lid and get it welded and painted

Cannon Fodder 18 October 2014 09:08 PM

Go for an A Line lip spoiler Lee, I think they look great on a Blobeye.

When I had an STi spoiler fitted to my Hawkeye WRX it was suprising the cr@p that was under even the low level spoiler, it's a pretty poor design really as there is nowhere for trapped water to escape to or from. :brickwall

I think that looks weird. I don't like it :|

You might not like it because you see so many with spoilers it's odd to see them without

Nice to be a little different and stand out from all the others now and again

The Stitcher 18 October 2014 10:25 PM

Do like the look of that ty , gives it a nice little touch whilst getting a little down force

EDIT: I was talking about the one Cannon Fodder posted pics of, not yours. They've added a roof spoiler.

I'm not a big fan of the top spoiler thing either and we all have our different opinions which is great

My plan is to keep my standard boot and spoiler and get a wrx one that I can switch when I feel the urge to make it look different

Oh well, not to your taste - tough it's too mine. :p

I'm not a fan of the STi picnic table but it serves a purpose, as do the roof spoiler and the rear boot lip spoiler, and both are proven genuine STi parts.

Thanks Lee, a while back Subaru UK were selling the A Line spoiler and matching boot lid for about £120 on their eBay clearance account, brand new unpainted but including delivery.

KJD Mk1 19 October 2014 09:19 PM

That's cleaning to a new level Lee

S3LDM 22 October 2014 08:39 AM

Good work Lee,

Nice attention to detail, the spoiler really does gather some crap, when I removed mine it was pretty much in the same state as yours

However I replaced the sponge gasket on the underside of the spoiler went for something a little thicker, to stop the dirt getting under the spoiler and prevent the spoiler touching the boot lid.
