A few of them are common for failing mate, but if yours has been ok then cool. But if buying new, you might aswell try to avoid it happening to you.

There's also quite a few fake walbro's knocking around, I'd buy anything like that from a reputable supplier pal

They are V4 Sti. Me and Gayallen confirmed the V3's have a single line through the cam whilst the V4 have 2.
As I said in my PM mate, its a good idea to start looking now for shims as they can be a bit of a pig to get hold of unless you pay a fortune through Subaru.

Fitted rear stout mounts as the stock one is rubbish and whiteline C links and on the hardest setting of course

The fronts I fitted super pro links as I have alloy arms and didn't trust the whiteline/cdf fronts and didn't want the ajustable ones as I hear they knock after a while

I never did one, well I did about 3 but it changed so often it wasn't worth it in the end :lol1:. Are you buying the bottom end ready assembled?

Tbh, I'm going to leave the engine stuff to the builder. (Bits, shimming, skim etc) as it's not my strong point.
I'm hoping to get v7/8 bottom end complete.

It's common knowledge to the guys in the know that they are good tyres kas, they are on par with like of 888s but I think the 888s don't go 'off' as quick on track and last a little longer before going off.
But 888s are not good in wet.
Ado8 are simlar, good in wet and dry, but I think the ns2r are slightly better in wet.
Rsr, well the ns2r are better in both.
So for a budget track tyres they are good.
Mine are the 120 track compound (softer) and the sidewalls are solid and hard.:thumb:

Got my wheels back today. Went for anthricite in matt finish, all for £140 inc removing/refitting tyres and balancing :)

Not much going on here still, but I finally managed to source a nice low mileage (44k) short block in great condition so that part is all good.

Just need to source service parts inc, belt kit inc pump, gaskets, might get arp stud bolts just as a precaution?, clutch, lightweight flywheel.

Quick question regarding clutch and flywheel? Is it ok if I sourced a second hand lightweight flywheel and just get it skimmed? Or buy new?
And clutch, I will be going 6 speed at some point, so I've seen clutches are rated for 5 speeds and 6 speeds, what's the actual difference in them for them to fit both boxes? And is flywheel only suitable for whichever box I have or are they interchangable?

You'll have to let us know how the Nankang tyres are on the road. This year throughout summer and right up to last month I ran R888s and DZ03s.
Bags of grip on the road, they inspired lots of confidence although I don't think I would be pushing them to their full potential on the road as it just gets dangerous.

Having said that I'm looking into what tyres to run next year that won't effectively be considered over kill for 'fast road' driving and some track use. So far I'm eyeing up AD08Rs or possibly the R1Rs. Although based on the feedback on the Nankangs it may also sway my decision, so keep us posted how they are.

Hi, yep the seats are from that GB, they are ok in terms of quality, not made out of platinum or anything but they seem ok for the price.

The garret is standard position, I'm going to see how it goes with it in terms of spool as I'm tempted with that t36.

The ns2r come in 2 compounds, 180 and 120, fast road and track. Mine are 120. You won't go wrong for the price, and good in wet too.

Also test fitted new spoiler, needs painting. I also have another lid tucked away that needs holes filling for a smoothed look (may get a spec c type wing or a bmw lip spoiler for it).

Also got passenger seat out for preparation of the buckets I've bought, getting the brackets off the runners is a pita lol. Just need the steel bars, but won't get them till I'm back at work as guy in yard should have some for me.

I've kept the rail near the centre console, just taken the rail apart as the rear bolt is flat type which is part of the bar and didn't make sense chopping the front mount off so left it connected. As said was a pita to get rail apart.
Just need 4 steel bars chopping to 48cms then I can install buckets to that.
