What is up with HRCPUMPS MATE I HAVE THEM ON MY ONES AND ARE GRATE
|
A few of them are common for failing mate, but if yours has been ok then cool. But if buying new, you might aswell try to avoid it happening to you.
|
There's also quite a few fake walbro's knocking around, I'd buy anything like that from a reputable supplier pal
|
Can anyone tell me condition, make, version, and what cams are in there? Just to confirm I haven't been conned :thumb: As I said in my PM mate, its a good idea to start looking now for shims as they can be a bit of a pig to get hold of unless you pay a fortune through Subaru. Are you stripping/rebuilding your heads yourself? Collets are a bundle of joy to get back on :lol1: |
avcs.....man up!

They are V4 Sti. Me and Gayallen confirmed the V3's have a single line through the cam whilst the V4 have 2.

Cool, have you got a shopping list yet apart from the bits you've already got?
I'll make a proper list of bits I need when I've got a block before having it all assembled. Unless you want to copy n paste me one :D |
Not much, but got the perrin front and rear ARBs on today when I had a bit of time.
Fitted rear stout mounts as the stock one is rubbish and whiteline C links and on the hardest setting of course http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psp3ohkxc4.jpg http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7xotuylu.jpg http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psqsm7xwer.jpg The fronts I fitted super pro links as I have alloy arms and didn't trust the whiteline/cdf fronts and didn't want the ajustable ones as I hear they knock after a while http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psfr97a0p2.jpg http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...pslkru1dpt.jpg |

I never did one, well I did about 3 but it changed so often it wasn't worth it in the end :lol1:. Are you buying the bottom end ready assembled?
I'm hoping to get v7/8 bottom end complete. |
No major updates, but bought these for the tyres, NS2-R's
http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psf5605964.jpg The wheels themselfs are in bad condition so I've dropped them off to get refurbed. http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5fa905e2.jpg |
Look forward to your feedback on them tyres

But 888s are not good in wet. Ado8 are simlar, good in wet and dry, but I think the ns2r are slightly better in wet. Rsr, well the ns2r are better in both. So for a budget track tyres they are good. Mine are the 120 track compound (softer) and the sidewalls are solid and hard.:thumb: |
Got my wheels back today. Went for anthricite in matt finish, all for £140 inc removing/refitting tyres and balancing :)
Before http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3512c1dc.jpg After http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psedtd9sdk.jpg Just need some spare time to fit them |
|
They look good mate, who did them?

Found him on Facebook. |
Got these minor bits, but essentials
Nismo 740cc injectors and fitting kit for my older rails http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psenaec7qd.jpg http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psqqjpxjsm.jpg |
Not much going on here still, but I finally managed to source a nice low mileage (44k) short block in great condition so that part is all good.
Just need to source service parts inc, belt kit inc pump, gaskets, might get arp stud bolts just as a precaution?, clutch, lightweight flywheel. Quick question regarding clutch and flywheel? Is it ok if I sourced a second hand lightweight flywheel and just get it skimmed? Or buy new? And clutch, I will be going 6 speed at some point, so I've seen clutches are rated for 5 speeds and 6 speeds, what's the actual difference in them for them to fit both boxes? And is flywheel only suitable for whichever box I have or are they interchangable? |
Got these beautys yesterday.

Looking good. Are those the seats from the group buy?
How are they in terms of quality seeing as they seem silly cheap for what they are. Are you going rotated with the Garrett or are you still retaining the standard position setup? You'll have to let us know how the Nankang tyres are on the road. This year throughout summer and right up to last month I ran R888s and DZ03s. Bags of grip on the road, they inspired lots of confidence although I don't think I would be pushing them to their full potential on the road as it just gets dangerous. Having said that I'm looking into what tyres to run next year that won't effectively be considered over kill for 'fast road' driving and some track use. So far I'm eyeing up AD08Rs or possibly the R1Rs. Although based on the feedback on the Nankangs it may also sway my decision, so keep us posted how they are. |
Hi, yep the seats are from that GB, they are ok in terms of quality, not made out of platinum or anything but they seem ok for the price.
The garret is standard position, I'm going to see how it goes with it in terms of spool as I'm tempted with that t36. The ns2r come in 2 compounds, 180 and 120, fast road and track. Mine are 120. You won't go wrong for the price, and good in wet too. |
Looking good.
I think we need your organisational skills for another RR day at somepoint Busta :) |

Thought I'd start the car today as it hasn't been started over Xmas/new year. Yep battery was dead.
Got the quick release bumper thingys fitted. http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...pskaf4f39n.jpg http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...pslpqpnhqn.jpg Also test fitted new spoiler, needs painting. I also have another lid tucked away that needs holes filling for a smoothed look (may get a spec c type wing or a bmw lip spoiler for it). http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...psekhkto4n.jpg Also got passenger seat out for preparation of the buckets I've bought, getting the brackets off the runners is a pita lol. Just need the steel bars, but won't get them till I'm back at work as guy in yard should have some for me. |
Stage 1 of seat fitting complete
http://i1080.photobucket.com/albums/...pspht8me5k.jpg I've kept the rail near the centre console, just taken the rail apart as the rear bolt is flat type which is part of the bar and didn't make sense chopping the front mount off so left it connected. As said was a pita to get rail apart. Just need 4 steel bars chopping to 48cms then I can install buckets to that. |
Ok so I have now seen something else at a bargain price and deal so anyone up for buying mine, but will come only as it is (unfinished) as I'm putting parts on other motor.
So will come without- Wheels (so bring your own) or I can maybe arrange some spacesavers or cheap wheels so it's rolling. Front and rear anti roll bars and links (will put standards back on) Also no front seats but I'll try get some to put in there or knock some money off, Different steering wheel (omp Corsica 330mm) I may keep the edfc controller unit but will knock £100 off if I do. Everything else will come with car inc (top of my head) Tien super streets with edfc Full front facelift front end inc crystal lights Fmic (think its toyosports or simlar) Braided brake lines Omp Corsica 330mm wheel in nearly new condition Alloy bottom arms Sti strut brace inc rear Sti uppipe Full custom 3" exhaust (well made) Quick release bumper Low level spoiler (needs painting) Apex I induction kit Swrd 290lph pump recently fitted 4 pot calipers Front lip spoiler Sti alloy bonnet Mileage is about 93k uk converted with certificate And most importantly, rust free example. Car fully running and drivable, just play in main thrust brearing so needs rebuild or bottom end for peace of mind and some wheels of your choice and your good to go. All this for £1300 |
