Matt, what when you get 11.999999. Then what?

11.8 and a girl on each arm like Joe Bugner.

Seriously though, the direction I take will depend on funds at the time. I expect on my current budget 11.9 is 5 years away.

JGlanzaV 11 October 2014 06:28 PM

Good luck matt, 11s are expensive....

You're putting obstacles in your own way! That's what's bollocks.

Funds, fair enough. Driver ability, load of shite.

Driver confidence might be a better phrase. Or confidence in the components!

Yep. True!

There are drivers, and then there are screw drivers....

Confidence in the components is complete tosh too, you can never have confidence in the components, as you are using them to the extremes, by doing this you are going to break things. I am usually more surprised when I make it through a race day without breaking something!

Today I had 3 failures. All minor, but could have been major. You need to have your wits about you and have a decent mechanical knowledge otherwise it could be catastrophic...

Can a 2003 Volkswagen Golf 1.9 GT TDI 150 be remapped as I've just read petrol cars 2001 onwards have an OBD2 port and diesels from 2004.

Seller bailed out this morning so thought f-it, take the car for a drag blast, see if I could crack 12.9!

It was damp, cold and my tyres were full of mud lol.

Wife gave me a right ear battering after the 3rd run. "Stop bloody launching at 4k, give it 6 or 7."

Mine hasn't. :(

She's got a valid excuse though, she can't drive.

I don't want to prove the 12.91 ;)

Can 12.91 be beat in a 330/300 Newage WRX with 50% compression loss on #1 and 15% on #3. On a cold, wet day and tyres full of mud.

5th run...

cookstar 12 October 2014 10:09 PM

I ran 11.8 yesterday a the Pod.

11.7 last month, first thing I did when I saw I'd cracked 11's was start making plans on what was required for 10's. :D

Should hopefully see them by March. :thumb:

Don't go chasing the drag times as it will end in tears unless you're loaded.

I think on a drier stickier track without my fooking horrid Suntek Sports I might push 11's, thought it would take 5 years but in reality I think I'm less than £1000 off.

Arf's old STI was there today, ran a 10.7

Spinning in the first 3 gears every time, Can't say it ever spun when I saw Arf hit similar times.

Filmed it if anyone wants me to up it?
