Thanks for the heads up, just time to set the record

An0n0m0us 28 December 2014 10:50 PM

Well that was a good effort at a mock up this time round, looked pretty real to me. I don't think even Top Gear could get the Argentinian police to play their silly games with the politics involved.

Still nothing touches the Vietnam special which was genuinely interesting.

ScoobyWon't 28 December 2014 11:06 PM

Loved the beaver hats. I want one! :D

Matteeboy 28 December 2014 11:07 PM

Well it had my heart thudding; partly the aggro but also the cars; all lovely!

Course it wasn't real. Lol

ScoobyJawa 28 December 2014 11:33 PM

And hands down the Lotus won. Mad!

Oh, and Argies are mental :p

Gear Head 28 December 2014 11:57 PM

Enjoyed the special but it was like poking a big hungry lion with a stick.

Fair play for the production crew for going in knowing what was potentially facing them.

I think you will find it was  Try doing some research into the story and the fuss it caused in the Argentinian press and from politicians. Going to the the home port of the Belgrano was not something they should have done when you read up how politically provocative/risky it was.

Alan Jeffery 29 December 2014 03:46 PM

Coming next; Hyundai drifting in Pyongyang Central Square.
Kim il-Sung as the Stig.
What could possibly go wrong?

Agree 100%, not sure what the programme makers were thinking really. :cuckoo:

That's correct read it somewhere yesterday

joz8968 29 December 2014 08:29 PM

You've got to laugh. Storm in a teacup and all that. (Although, that attack was anything but funny - flaming cranks :cuckoo:).

I read (or was it on the program itself?) that, allegedly, the bloody Mayor of all morts, actively encouraged a mob - which included some veterans! - to amass for an ambush further on!?!

It's one of the most sold, translated and repeated TV shows in the W O R L D..
You'd think the Argies would have the sense to realise that dollars would follow if they attracted more tourists to that amazing place.
I'd say the Falklands are British. Period. However, working with Argentine business to extract and share labour and oil/gas revenue wouldn't half make sense. Eventually. As usual, politics are in the way.

Matteeboy 30 December 2014 03:01 PM

I'm sure it was over dramatised but you still got an idea of how cro-magnon some people are.

gpssti4 30 December 2014 04:11 PM

My mate sold the Mustang to Top Gear. I was at his place when it was loaded onto a car transporter and taken to a secret location. He was originally given a buy back option but he declined as he knew how the cars get treated lol.
