Lambo doors

Hi folks :)

As its none Subaru related (meaning there on a different car) can anyone tell me what problems usually or can occur with having lambo doors on a car?

Thanks

You look like a complete tit at the petrol station and anywhere that involves getting in and out, don't think even lambo even do lambo doors any more?

Especially for the price, you'd be better off putting the dollar towards some coilovers

Just need a Lotto win or an epic career boost to purchase a Lambo so I can retro-fit conventional door hinges to one whilst quoting "because race car". Certainly put the Ebola virus amongst the hypocondriacs.

The kits are usually shyte....OK for a year or so then, your door won't close porperly, it'll rain in, and the bearings in the hinges will wear/collapse/fall apart meaning the door catches the body work when you close. Also on some cars the metal on the A-pillars is sometime too weak to support the extra leverage so the metal tears and the door falls off...Classy.

One customer with his S5 learnt that the hard way, and got a soggy bluetooth unit that lives deep under the carpet beneath driver's seat, in turn that killed the whole MMI system (in English: posh car radio)....a £900 part....plus loom and connectors (as they were fecked too from corrosion)

Fecked in multi-storey car parks! Unless on the top level I suppose!

my mate had them on a punto! says it all really

EOEUMC 01 October 2014 04:04 PM

Well out of the replies there was one that was of use!

The majority I suppose you would expect from a load of knob jockeys :thumb: lol

taylor85 01 October 2014 04:12 PM

Lol have they sagged ? The punto ones after a while started to pull on the mounts ended up welding a extra strong plate in

Not when there's so many knobs on here that as soon as there's something they don't like they have to try and be little/slate the ideas of the person that wants to do something different than be boring and follow the crowd :D

Oh and the car is already done that I'm thinking about and apparently it was an expensive set up and not a cheap Ebay item :)

Go Google a VW based kit car called a "Nova". The whole roof and windscreen lifted up so you could get in and out. Or as I found out, DIDN'T lift up so I could get out.. I had to toot the sad little horn to get rescued or I'd still be there to this day.
The only really cool lift up doors I came across was in an Ultima Chevrolet, which caused a right stir when I popped the door up at traffic lights on a stinking hot day with no functioning air con.

salsa-king 02 October 2014 07:06 AM

never had any problems with my car with them, made it easier getting in and out in car parks.

They look sh1te and you can't use the door pockets. But, it's your cash so fill your boots.

EOEUMC 02 October 2014 09:30 AM

Ignore the so called models ;)
