slight ticking when engine is cold but goes once engine warms up
 

What does this sound like problem wise on a impreza classic?

Slight ticking when engine is cold but goes once engine warms up? Not mine someone elses.

is it all the time or just when it hasn't been driven for a few days. (piston slap)
If it is every day, I have a very slight guess for wrong oil, too thick when cold?

Could it be the boost solenoid ticking away?

Guy said it's all the time, goes when warm, not my car, it's one in looking at. Just concerned might be a fault that will get worse. Wanted see if anyone had any idea's

I 2nd boost solenoid mine dose that tiks wen I first start (cold) but stops after a bit could be that ..

What are the hydraulic tappets like on these? I've had a few cars where they're a known cold rattle maker.

Someone told me injectors can click, not sure if they quieten when they get warmed by engine temps.
