5th gear synchromesh problems can i still dyno map

helo people I got a map coming up and my gears crunch's going into 5th. if you go strait into 5th the it crunch's and you can feel it on the gear stick . but if you dubleclutch going into 5th its fine like there's no probem. can I still get a dyno map because all my mods are on and I need a map and cnt afford a new box atm..

Get it mapped and then you will have no choice to get a box ;)

The strain will only get worse on the box after the map.

I think your best bet is to cancel the map and get the box sorted first. If it does go bang on the dyno it will only cost more to fix in the long run.
I know that's not the answer you want to hear, but it is the safest way to go.

I can get a box after on payday £150 for a 2nd hand 5speed box at midlandssubaruspears already rang them just encase lol :) just don't want it to blow on the dyno day its been fine so far if you dubleclutch going into 5th so will it be ok going on a dyno? or will it be a problem for the mapper ?

S700BYE 17 September 2014 11:13 PM

il have to postpone it for a month if I get a box now :( will it not damage my engine driving with the mods and no map for that long?? I need my car for work so I have to drive it

It's not normal to need 5th on a dyno, but speak to your mapper and see what he says.

S700BYE 17 September 2014 11:31 PM

box fluid good question , iv done over 3000 miles on that box fluid and I don't no be4 that. how often does it need changing ? isit a easy job ?

Wont be mapped on the dyno in 5th and even if it was once into 5 th no issue anyway.
