Phones 4 U into administration
|
Maybe they should have put their recently acquired Delorean to better use? ;)
I was expecting carphone warehouse to fold before them...considering the mess left after best-buy pulled out the UK. |
Can't see how these places are still going, there over priced, and now most phones are on separate finance you can go with the cheapest company like 3 and buy phone separate
|
Looks like Carphonewarehouse is going under as well. It always made me wonder how these nationwide stores could survive selling phones when 99% of the time its cheaper going for the phone dire t from the service provider.
|
Their adverts were enough to put me off buying anything from them :)

Thought cpw had merged with something else :wonder:
|
I suspect a complacent management - who just did not (or more likely could not be bothered to) spot that the competitive and business model had totally changed
once the networks (EE Voda) pulled the plug they simply had no business they had a business model solely based on a signature on two paper contracts |
A lot of these chains have got into trouble through dodgy property acquisition. And by borrowing too much.
So many businesses that have become very successful only to trip up over basic economics. |

Damn, I was hoping to pitch up a tent outside Phones4U near me for the iPhone 6 and sell my spot in the queue.
