Cookstars "mystery machine" drag/track project
I thought I'd start a little thread with what's going on with my 99 UK 2000
It started off with me as a £500 runabout through the winter. I bought it as a non runner (unplugged MAF sensor and drove home in it:D) When I picked it up it had a printout from SRR (mapped by JGM) for 318 BHP. Here's a few pics of how she stands now. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps8b29dbed.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps3ad6c336.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps0e7ffe04.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps3833ffe0.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps198352fd.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...pscb48a06b.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps4a49140a.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...psf553a342.jpg Spec list is as follows Engine (current) Unknown.:lol1: Turbo VF20 Gearbox STI7 6 Speed box, dif, hubs etc etc. Brakes Front Newage Brembo calliper with PF pads and uprated discs Rear Brempo with standard pads and discs Exhaust Full 3 inch decat system (turbo back) Fuelling SWRD 290 fuel pump Suspension Tein superstreet coilovers Wheels and tyres 18 inch inovit with 225/40/18 T1rs The car is going away on Sunday to have the following fitted. Sorry, should have made that clear, since I bought it, I have added the coilovers, brakes and gearbox. :)
Also the wheels Only changed spark plugs and Maf on the engine side though, with the downpipe decat it made 341 at Surrey Rollng Road, about an hour before spitting its head gaskets out. :lol1: |

It's about time you started this thread..... It's even got me back on Snet after a long time away....
Now get cracking with it cos I wanna start making it look special 👍 |
All in hand my son. You done that sample yet :norty:
Not the urine kind though.. :Suspiciou |
It hasn't arrived yet, only shipped today. Might come in tomorrow but got plenty of time for that 😉
|
Been on to JT innovations today, and have ordered a hybrid AVCS conversion/new age coilpack conversion loom.
Bit pricey, but hey ho. :) |
RCM headgaskets, RCM headers and up pipe fitting kit, and a timing belt ordered today
Wallets taken a right pounding. :D |
I do like reading about people's projects, always plenty of different ideas.
Good luck with this one and deepest sympathies to your wallet. |

Picked this lot up tonight, should keep me going for a while...

Some choice parts there. Will make for a great motor.
|
My mate popped over and fitted some bonnet pins today, cheap but functional. The bonnet latch doesn't catch if you pop the bonnet, so I lost any trust I had with it.
As soon as I source a ally bonnet I'll stump up for some nicer aero catches. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps5e3ece29.jpg |
Off she goes today with a boot full of goodies to be put together..
My finger nails are getting a battering today. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps8cd1c3de.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps1066b75c.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...ps6e1b806d.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...psc15d56b0.jpg |

|
Dump valve delete bung, head gaskets, JTi looms, and header fixing kit have arrived today.
Only part outstanding is the ECU to be returned from Alcatek. They have assured me that it will be with the garage by Friday (crossing fingers/toes and everything else) JGM is booked to put a base map on the car on Monday, to get the car drivable and to be able to test, ready for full mapping on Wednesday at Surrey. :luxhello: |
Just noticed this, subscribed! :thumb:
