To rebrand and make people think it's a new fuel! :D lets just say it clearly worked on you!

It has been out for a while.

BP used to do 102 Ron I think but is stupidly expensive and has since been pulled.

Yes 99 is the most you will get, unless you add some octane booster.

No point really.

TimH 05 September 2014 09:30 PM

It's not quite the same - VPower used to contain 8% alcohol, whereas Nitro is only 6% (based on the readings from my flex fuel sensor). I'm sure it's still 99 RON, but they have definitely changed the mix.

Rick2014 05 September 2014 09:43 PM

So is the mix a little weaker now if its only 6%

TimH 05 September 2014 09:47 PM

No, that's unlikely. If it's still sold as 99 RON (I've not checked) then it will be 99 RON. I'm not sure of how ethanol contributes to RON, if at all, but it certainly adds oxygen so is a good way to get power (which is why we all like adding methanol :) )

This has been out for months?

The main change is the blend/effectiveness of the detergents. Allegedly.

Check their website....

Ahh the power of branding LOL

Give some petrol a fancy new name to make more people buy it :D

It's probably got more ethanol added to rust and perish your fuel pipes, with extra added bulls**t for good measure. ;)

TimH 06 September 2014 10:24 AM

Hmmm...Nitro has *less* ethanol than the previous VPower...maybe they've had too many complains of rusty/perished fuel lines

V-Power has 'evolved' again. This is, in effect, "Gen.4", I think (if you include the original Optimax brand):

FFS when will they stop with the bullsh*t and just say EXACTLY what their "magic chemical" ingredients are.

"Cleaning molecules"
"Dynaflex"

Ffs.

I'm using ESSO super these days in everything, as it's the only fuel maker to honestly state the ethanol content of their fuel in which region...https://www.esso.co.uk/fuels-faqs

If V power "cleaned" your engine, then why does it do this to the carbs on my Kawasaki just after 3 months to when the were last stripped and cleaned

Ethanol corrosion. These were spotless 3 months ago.
