td05 is my favourite turbo of all my cars, it should make about 340bhp maybe more with a billet wheel but it will pull so much better than a vf30.

Oops just noticed your car type, I would go with a billet td05 20g or a scoobyclinic billet turbo as your car will take it and the spool will be the same on the 20g as the td05.

Non billet vf34 is similar to vf30 so not much difference in spool there.Stick in 20g billet if budget alowes and go for 400bhp:P

How much billet vf34 costs?I imagine it would spool like crazy and still make 350+.

scoobyrob2002 31 August 2014 09:58 PM

yeah but laggy man

Twin scroll is ****, I had a hybrid twin scroll years ago when I imported my car and I reckon a normal 20g would be better and cheaper ;)

Got to love a 34 :)

Go for the best of both worlds and go billet 18g, they seem to always make more power than vf34's and have more midrange and top end to boot.
Never understand why people keep punting silly money on vf34's when the 18g is easily as good if not better on the road - I've seen a car with a vf34 and STI TMIC and 18g non billet with Japspeed FMIC go head to head and up to about 70 there was no perceivable difference at all, but after 70 the 18g just started getting the legs on the 34.

scoobyrob2002 01 September 2014 10:00 PM

so go for an 18g tdo5 billet?

Dmacnz 02 September 2014 12:13 AM

I have a billet 20g. Nice turbo hauls ass.
Little bit of lag but not bad.
18g be fun street car!

Thinking of taking a TD05-16g 90 Degree through a little modification process to either a front entry 18G billet or 20G billet.

Not after big power, currently running 335BHP on a VF28.
Looking for 350-360BHP and DV delete.

So do I go 18G or 20G ??

beliblisk 05 November 2014 09:28 PM

16g should make 350bhp so i would go with that to aid spool.

To be honest you wont feel much difference betwine 335 and 360,18 is more like 380 capable unit,20g is 400:)

I would adise you to stick with what you got ATM or bite the bullet and go "all in" and go 400+.

And wave by-by to my gearbox !!!!!

The main reason for change is to be able to run DV delete and get rid of the horrible 'TISHHHH' through the Induction kit, even with a Re-circ DV.

The VF28 also dies off at the top, so holding longer on the TD05 would be good.
It won't bring any/much extra torque's in the mid-range, hence the gearbox shouldn't be taking any more pain.

By "all in" i ment buying 6 speed and brakes&suspension as well to handle 400+:P
It was just advice......if you wanna do it go with 16g but dont take for granted that gearbox will hold.....i destroyed mine at 300bhp mark:)

Well I've been running 335BHP/310lbft for over 6 years so far.
Brake are fine thanks, running Brembo's front/Back.
Also on new Bilsteins.

Not everyone want 400BHP, especially in classic.
