Few questions regarding flat boot floor and swirl pot.

I'm making plans for removing my spare wheel well and having a flat ally boot floor. On which I plan to site a swirl pot and external pump.

Is it just the wheel well that gets cut out or the whole boot floor?

What thickness plate should I be looking for?

And how does the plate attach to the remaining boot floor?

The car is in the process of being completely stripped, will I need a firewall where the back seats used to be?

:)

Hi there

Please have look on those pictures, pictures are from our old wagon

We are not used alloy floor,Neil used carbon floor/plate and has been enough for our needs and yes has been attached to remaining boot floor there

About the using alloy plate for firewall, not sure,we are not used, but wish we are,044 is noisy pump,if I would do this again,I would probably fit swirl pot under bonnet or go with different fuel pump from Bosch,I think Bosch 9XX are bit quieter than 044

Rear seats are not so heavy and due this I wouldn't remove them, its not worth it there

Thanks,Jura

How much was the carbon sheet for the boot floor?

I just don't remember there how much this has cost, but I would check eBay or CarbonMods, they're selling carbon sheets for good money if I remember correctly

Thanks,Jura

Great, I take it the sheet was bonded to the metal boot floor?

Yes Carbon sheet was bonded to metal boot floor, you can secure this via rivets if you want to,but didn't and we are never have any issue
