Big power on the oem clutch

Who's running big power on the OEM 6 speed clutch and for how long?
My engine is coming out next month and I'm trying to decide if to just fit an original clutch and flywheel or if its really worth the money fitting a upgraded item.
Currently running 360/425 and had no problems but want to up that to around 400.

I ran 430/420 on the OEM clutch that had about 35k miles on it. It was ok providing you made clean shifts, but didn't like it at all once it started spinning. When I took it out at 38K miles it was shagged :lol1:

How long was it at stock power before 430/420.
And what did you replace it with?

It ran at 340/340 for about 10k but that was mostly before I bought it.
Was upgraded to an Exedy twin plate with a new forged engine.

Running 490/475 on the OEM clutch..... so far so good. Although my drivetrain (in fact the whole car) only has 18500 miles on it. :D

It's been running in excess of 400/400 for over 10k.

I don't slip the clutch and I don't do standing starts.

That's a lot more than I'm going to be running. Thinking the oem will do me as i only do 6k a year and will be around 400 tops.

As much as you said you want to run 400bhp, your actually still running 425ftlb's. So unless your launching I suspect you will be fine, but the obvious thing to do is check it over when the engine is out as its only a 5 min job.

So many options available out there for clutches, I don't think I will bother with a Hyper Twin again, these ACT clutches seem to have a good reputation for folk running under 500/500

Your right. I will see what kind of state it's in after 26k when it's removed then I will make a decision.

Just got a good deal on a Exedy pink box and flywheel from Aztec. So will get it fitted and post back on how it drives.

That's good to know. Should be more than capable with what I'm putting through it.
Is yours the H1 anti judder version? How does it drive?

It will be the "H1" anti-judder version as the older version judders like hell ;)

We only sell the anti-judder version by default. :thumb:

Well iv done a couple of hundred miles on the Exedy h1 clutch with lightweight flywheel.

The clutch drives perfect just like the oem clutch.
There is No judder or bad clutch smell its just feels great.

The Flywheel has slightly improved engine response. Noticed you need slightly more revs on a hill start but other than that there's non of the symptoms of having a flywheel that's to light!
Would defanatly recommend this set up!
