HSD Coilover Damping Adjuster Fouling CV Boot (Newage)

Anyone else had this trouble? Had the shocks fitted by the pros, and had the alignment setup at a place that specialises in prepping track cars, and subsequently when they settled in, I lowered them some more. Im not mega low at the minute, BUT the damping adjuster on the bottom of the passenger side coilover has torn the CV boot. I adjusted them as described - by lowering the shock body through the lower mount.

Anyone else had this problem?

Im thinking either the preload has been set incorectly, OR I'll need to compromise handling slightly and adjust the seat platform in order to raise the shock body.

Im not crazy low, Im on 05 Widetrack STI, and theres about 20/30mm from the top of my tyres to the lip of my arch.

Just to show ride height, bad pic I know, but its not exactly 'slammed'.

Thats low, You should have space 35mm between tyre and arch. Front looks to high ,maybe 5mm lower or not when You rise rear.
Stance looks crap btw , to flat.

The front defo needs to come down I agree. But it can't!

That's bit strange and its looks bit slammed and this is on only 17" wheels

Here are pictures of our old wagon on 17" and 18"

18" XXR 530 ET20 with 245/40 Yokohama Advan AD08R

At rear we are raised ride height, this I would recommend if you have issue with rubbing with wide wheels

17" ET28 DRAG DR31 with 255/40 R17 Toyo R888

This has been old ride height and its bit low at front and at rear has been raised bit more than we are thought so,due size of the wheels

Thanks,Jura

The wheels and tyres don't rub anywhere really, just the shocks fouling the CV boot. I'll get it adjusted when I get chance. Bloody cars.

Its the adjustor knob on the bottom of the shock body is rubbing against the CV boot. I don't have alignment settings but I have had an alignment done.

Hi there

Then you should be OK,if this adjuster knob is only issue,we are not run those knobs on the HSD,we are adjusted them only mainly on track or drag strip, during the long trips we are set to middle

I would have one knob ready for adjustment in the car,not all knobs on the shocks there

Thanks,Jura

Jura - you are a legend! Thank you so much! How do I remove this?

They should have there allen key bolts, something like this(those coilovers are not Subaru specific, but should have same damping knobs)
