Who was it that said that the most damaging thing one can do in society is to disassociate effort from reward. That's what our media seems to be systematically these days: celebrating infamy, idiocy and mediocrity. As a result, it's spreading!
People tune in to shows like celeb big brother, Jersey Shore and the like thinking it's a just a bit of fun to laugh at the freak show (because that's what it is essentially). The reality is until the general public say "Sick of seeing plebs being put on a pedestal and rewarded" and vote with their feet, we'll continue to see people seeking entitlement from this kind of behaviour and trying to get famous for being infamous. Ns04 ....... and yes, I'm aware I sound like an old git!!! ;) :D |
