scoobyboy1 10 August 2014 06:03 PM

Oh dear, you paid for goods through paypal and tried to do a gift deposit to save paying a few quid!!:brickwall

Going to cost you a lot more then the 3% charge that paypal use!!:(

Just count yourself lucky it wasn't a few thousand pounds and put it down as a lesson learned, I know its a proper kick in the balls, but just dont get caught out like this again!!!:wonder:

Yup more fool you really.

Bet you won't send a gift again!

I always give people the option then it is their decision, so unless you go knock on his door you are on a hiding to nothing

Yeah.. Now I know why..

LeOke 10 August 2014 06:25 PM

Its not going to happen again..

I just want to warm people for him.

stonejedi 10 August 2014 06:36 PM

A gift payment is fine as long as you know that your buying from a reputable seller, but that's the rub right there, unless you are 100% sure just send it through paypal goods as that is exactly what it is.A gift payment to the wrong seller is just that "A GIFT!!!".SJ.

Are you a bit stupid or what?

:wonder:

*matthewturb2000* 10 August 2014 07:17 PM

Why would he be stupid, I've sold and bought in the same was as what has happened to leoke, it's just **** happens unfortunately

imprezaworks 10 August 2014 07:19 PM

I'd happily pay by gift to a trusted seller, and have done on here with no issues. I think it depends on the amount

Let me think:

1. bought via PayPal gift
2. bought via random message on a car forum
3. bought from random low post, newbie member

Stupid is a harsh word, perhaps "fcuking unbelievably naive" is a better turn of phrase...?

Exactly, trusted :thumb: Not as per my previous post of randomer shifting their goods on another thread.

I've bought from friends on here before, friends being the operative word.

Yup I bought from you and paid as gift with no probs :thumb: you are well known on here tho so that's why I trusted you :)
Wouldn't have done the same with a newbie but we all make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. Unlucky to the op and cheers for the heads up to everyone.

How do you buy something from a shop, that has never been sold in a shop, oh wise one?

Well first of all I can probably live with out, but it's funny how you say "wise one" the biggest problem for me is that I am not "wise" to the problems facing the internet buyer.

I could start small but I have never come across anything that I've wanted that I couldn't get else where.

In fact, while my little brain is ticking over I did once buy a tv/dvd for my truck a few years back, it took a few day's to arrive but when it did the remote wasn't working so I sent the seller a message and the next day he replied saying he has sent a new one.

So about 5 day's after deciding to but a little tv I had myself said tv and two remotes, although I was pleased with the seller the new remote still didn't work so I went to the shop that I was trying to save the effort of going to by buying of the net in the first place for a specific battery.

In short for a small saving I had to wait about 6 days and still did the journey I was trying to avoid in the first place, since then I haven't bothered but iam sure the day will come that I buy from off the net again.
