£7k for a 05 non turbo? What have you been smoking? I want some! :D

maxsec 11 August 2014 04:38 PM

guide prices are shoiwng £7k for a 2ltre on same milage, given rarity of the 1.6 4x4 seems to be a fair comparison on price.

Open to offers, nice car

powerwrx 11 August 2014 04:52 PM

youll be lucky to get about £4k mate, £7000 is STi money, low millage or not imo

nice car for some one all the same GLWTS

you are just missing the small point of nobody actually willing to purchase the non-turbo car. classics - yes, but newages, you can throw them at people and people rarely purchase them.

a 1.6 liter engine is no advantage either at certain situations i would call it a dis-advantage.

a 2.0 non turbo sport, with the wrx interior (which yours does not have) can be purchased for a grand with a low-ish mileage.

i am sure you get the drift, good luck from me as well.

bustaMOVEs 11 August 2014 05:44 PM

Wow!

powerwrx 11 August 2014 05:56 PM

think I was being generous with £4k to be honnest

lordharding 11 August 2014 06:12 PM

I would of said £2100 maximum
It's nine years old and a basic spec Subaru

No enthusuist would be interested in it

Prehaps a boy racer who might want TI make it look like a turbo by spending a fortune on ir

Tidgy 11 August 2014 06:30 PM

Lmao, epic thread.

2k ish

taylor85 11 August 2014 06:40 PM

7k you get get a new Dacia for that I think

Fair enough, so would the 2k be a better price given the milage? dealer offered my mum £1500 so he was obviously expecting to sell for nearer the £4k

gazney101 11 August 2014 07:03 PM

Whoever buys it will get an as new car there, such a shame theres no demand for them

Good luck

so a dealer offered £1500 , you think he will sell on for £4000 you ask for £7000

look here and draw an average from that

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_tr...at=0&_from=R40

2k sounds fair, you can push your luck and try 3k, but i highly doubt it. the boyracers will look at the 2.0 sport, and grandmas will not look at it because of the boyracer "prestige" this car, unfortunately has.

maxsec 12 August 2014 04:19 PM

Adjusted down to £3k will see if that brings any interest.. thanks guys

f1_fan 12 August 2014 04:25 PM

A £4k price drop in a day ... wow :D

I am not sure if the OP is misguided or deluded, I suspect the former. A car like this will never make anywhere near what it owes the seller. Rare or not, this is a hugely undesirable car to the majority of the car buying public and will only be considered by few. For that reason you're unlikely to get very much for it.

Unlike Ford and many other manufacturers, Subaru never promoted the turbocharged derivatives as halo models to the poverty spec models but instead aimed them at wildly contrasting markets.

Someone will inherit a very well maintained car for an absolute bargain price when it is sold.

EssexJamie 12 August 2014 05:18 PM

I'm not sure the word rare is in the right context here tbh, rare normally means a limited run etc
Sometimes when people use rare to describe there car they mean undesirable when sold new.

It does look in good condition and I'm sure to the right person they will pay around £2-£2.5k

Trinity 12 August 2014 06:32 PM

Granted there will be some young peeps who want a Subaru but need the insurance of the 1.6, but I would be looking at £1500 as there is no demand.

BUT, you could sell the black carpet and door cards, they are in demand!

The Zohan 12 August 2014 07:11 PM

Lucky to see 2 grand for this. rare can often be a good thing, not in this case though. Miles are in its favour, nothing else.
