Recently I swapped my compo mo6 alloys for these

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y18...psa2f3ca10.jpg

As you can see they stick out a bit, which I was expecting, so I brought the abw wide arches for it. Now im having second thoughts about weather I want to cut my arches up to get them on.

So guys whats your thoughts, do I go balls out on it and just do it or sell these with the arches and go for a nice set of normal rims?

Help please guys

Do you have rust in the rear arches?
That is the answer

If so, it is not a great shell - butcher it and get the wide arches on, it looks great.

If it is a nice clean shell, no rust. Do not ruin one of the increasingly rare straight rust free classic shells. Do not put the arches on.

cheers for the reply fella. No mate not a mark on the arches, people always complement how clean the car is.

Have you still got the comps?? Put them back on looks so right!!

ossett2k2 09 August 2014 09:06 PM

I'm going to stick my head on the line and say that he might well of swapped the Compomotive's for some wider ones :D

Step back from the grinder and don't jump on the wide arch bandwagon :lol1:

Carnut 09 August 2014 09:13 PM

What would happen if you eventually sold the xxr's? Would you be left wanting it back the way it was, standard with nice wheels IMO.:thumb:

yabbadoo4 09 August 2014 09:16 PM

for the love of god dont butcher it! xxr.s look better on newage anyway.

KaranS94 09 August 2014 09:17 PM

Please don't ruin it with the arches, this is a mint type r one of the last GC8's produced. Keep it stock you will benefit in the future.

type-ellis 09 August 2014 09:21 PM

No im afraid I don't have the compos anymore. I do love the xxr rims but i know there is a lot of work to put them on. The xxr rims are less than 2 mths old so i could easily sell them and buy another set of rims if need be

I think this sums it up nicely.

Looks better in first picture

MattyB1983 09 August 2014 10:35 PM

XXR's are nice wheels but not on a classic. They suit a newage a treat but look to big on a classic.
Sell them on and get yourself a set of Revolution millennium's or Speedline ST2's and leave the arches alone.

ossett2k2 09 August 2014 10:39 PM

Excellent choice! Just love a nice clean classic :) plus scoobynet rules state if you don't follow the poll results then you will be in trouble lol

killbill 10 August 2014 05:12 PM

had the same dilema after i found some lurking rust on the arch.

decided to get repaired proper and ift some nice revo milleniums ;)

dont cut them ;) get teh MO6 back on
