JDM Price guide
hi Guys,
I have seen a JDM I am looking at getting, I just want to find out if the price is correct for it as I have only had UK models before. 2003 JDM Subaru Impreza STI Mica Blue 59k miles 5 previous owners 8 months MOT 6 Months Tax Full Service History Engine: Walbro Fuel Pump 3 port boost solenoid K&N Cold Air Induction kit (mounted in inner wing) Roger Clark Motorsport full exhaust system - brand new, less than 2000 miles old Mapped by Zak at Mocom Racing Also has an ECUTEK license from previous tune Car is priced at £8750, Is this about right? |
Seems like a good price,is it a private sale?

Even though I'm a JDM owner, that appears to be a high price (imo) for a non widetrack Blobeye package. It's nigh on 9k for a 11yr old STI.
Of course.... if this the market value, then so be it. :) Perhaps I'm out of touch with JDM selling prices. |

That said it is an eleven year old car. Priced at £8750, I would expect it to realise £8,500 if it is in A1 condition. The twin scroll is good car in standard form but becomes great with a few mods. As you know. :D |
I would say that is a fair price if the car is in a clean condition. I would be looking for around the same as mine... mine is a three owner car, with similar miles.
Personally a JDM is well worth the extra outlay over a UK spec car, hence why I never bought a UK one. Be quick though if its been advertised nationally because Cheshire Performance will buy it and then put it up for £14K :norty: |

Theres nothing like a twinscroll redline banshee scream to forget all about the bubb bubb bubb bubb

I have a jdm widetrack and would think I would only get about that price for mine if I decided to sell, but as jdm are rare you always need to move quick if it's a good one.

It depends on the car Shaun. A well maintained, decent conditioned JDM twin scroll will command a small premium over the UK cars.

A widetrack JDm is for sale in the SN Cars For Sale section, looks great but the 100K miles on the clock is putting me off..
|
I really wouldn't be worries about that on a 2.0 Twinscroll engine as longs as it's been serviced correctly. That is a blinder of a car for amazing money.
|
Thing is things like the Turbo have done 100K, how much longer would they last?
|
a replacement TS turbo is £300 , or you can buy a new Kinguawa one for £600. I really wouldn't think that was a big factor at that price level.
|
Cool thanks for the Info. I will look into it.

What I look for is the length of time each owner had it. I'd be very cautious if the last, say, 3 owners only had it 18 months between them. Possibly passed it on like a hot potato (or bomb). |
