I was going to put this video in one of the sub forums but decided it was to good to be missed, i think he has had alot to do with a few of us liking Subaru, hope you enjoy. :thumb:

Grate vid mate when I see it was 45/50mins long I was thinking shall I watch it now or later.
Started watching it and at one point even telling the wife to hush up. Lol.
In dog house for abit now . Mate it was grate to see the old metro & did not no about the R4 he was going to do . Like it alot .

Glad you liked it :thumb: it isn't your usual Colin Mcrae vid as you now know, can get a bit sad in some part's and frustrating in others that we don't have him fighting our corner any more, a great guy thats sadly missed.

I really enjoyed that cheers for sharing it. Everytime i see that classic being driven by colin it makes me wish i kept mines. It really gets you heart and mind pumping about the subaru impreza and why i enjoy driving them.

To be honest I never really thought McCrash was that good.

One of the reasons he used to crash out was his passion for wining and his all or nothing attitude.

Hmmm, not sure how 'great' a guy can be that takes a helicopter up with no valid licence or valid rating for that actual helicopter and performs unnecessary low level manoeuvres that resulted in his death and the death of 3 others including two kids. Just saying!

Seen it before when it was on BBC.
All or nothing attitude - yeah, that was him through and through.
Reckless might be a better description, even to the bitter end of the helicopter crash with low flying in bad conditions

Yes thats a good point, as is with alot of world champions they can be there own worst enemy at times. It was probably the same part of his brain that won the world championship as that made him die the way he did.

As far as "great" guy goes, I was thinking more of his rallying than him being the husband to his wife or the father of his child, after all I didn't know him.

Yeah I get you, I just feel his legacy has been massively tainted by what he did. A great shame.

But....he only had one WRC title.
One isn't enough to say someone is great, brilliant, or legend as you describe.

It's better than none, Richards burns 1 wrc = legend, what the lads did for Subaru is priceless enough said.

Let's not forget Richard Burns, but as far as Mcrae goes he was a runner up on a few occasions and lost many years moving to ford. He has also had a lot of success in other formulas/classes and was beating the competition from a young age on a motocross bike.

He also beat Carlos Sainz, his teammate and multiple world champion in the same car with the odds stacked against him with the team gifting Carlos one of his wins.

And to try a different tack, Vettle has won the word Championship 4 times and Schumacher 7, does that make them x amount better than Hamilton and Alonso?

Could be worth watching the vid again, I am not saying he was the best in the world or even better than the suggestions you have made but good in his own right.

Nothing to do with me liking Subaru's.
The sweaty sock wasn't a great driver and would of won the championship more than once if he was more in control.
Added to that he killed himself his kid and another family being a dick in a helicopter.

Have you got an "if in doubt flat out" sticker or a Paul walker "dude I nearly had you" sticker on your car??

Ok alot of u do like him prob all of u liked him . In sport any sport u will all way have the one kid that pushes just that little bit more then the rest . They are the ones the drive rally car I.e like Collin did . Or the likes of messi in the football . From just a kid u can sometimes see that some thing special in them.
I Gess what I am trying to say was no matter what he did he did the best he could & was or would of gone on to be one if the grates , it's just a sham he dyed as we will never seen what could of been. The killing of he son and others well I am not going down that road. His wife lost of husband & a son .RIP if in doubt flat out .

I like that mate . Good one . It's was a gear vid and I think some are missing the point to the vid. All of us in our 40s no the Subaru because of Collin .

I can get that you find it boring.... but the last part of your statement deserves ....:facepalm: to the power of :facepalm2:

Interesting to watch, thanks for posting the vid. When the rallying was in its glory days with McRae etc, I was less than 10 years old so was too young to know anything about it so I defiantly didn't buy a Subaru because of the rallying :lol:. I can fully appreciate the heritage now and have an understanding of what rallying was like back then.

Mmmmm y the last . Think that f1 cars coming down regents street & down the haymarket, then down to Big Ben at 150mph may be more would be a day and a half . I say May of watch it I meant will or would watch it. is it so out there that f1 can not be done on the streets of London instead of silverstone .
As your profile is f1 I take it u do like it a lot so did not mean any thing to upset u in any way mate . But I think u no that.

The group b rally car was the hay day . Even rally driver saying the cars are to fast to drive lol. They even refused to drive in the rest of the rally's . Spectators getting to near the cars , even trying to touch the cars as they was going round ( mad)
Me & a few mates went up to watch Collin in the wrc in Wales . Went up there in a Renault 5gt turbo. Good old days . Seeing it at night was unreal how they got down a lane so fast in the dark & flames out the back and the sound of the popping & banging. They was good day with good mates .:thumb:
