Headgasket change

My 2003 wrx wagon is showing signs of head gasket failure , I'm going to pull the engine and do the gaskets next week , but is it wise to change the main and big end bearings at the same time, car is on 97,000 miles?

Thanks

Definately as engine is gonna be out, so may as well do it at same time.

Indeed......when was oil pump, timing belt and wather pump changed?

Also check clutch when engine is out:)

Will do timing belt and water pump as well , maybe clutch, oil pump should be ok shouldn't it? Thinking now maybe I should put some fordge pistons and rods in at the same time lol

may aswell do the whole hog mate............why not drop a 2.5 crank in it and build a 2.1 stroker for extra torque???

Depends on wishes and depth of you wallet........i would sell wrx and go for STI as it is much better platform:)

Already got a wide track sti lol , I think will just do main and big end bearings and gaskets + belts and water pump, and clutch while engines out, should give it another few years life out of the engine

Thanks

just done this. it IS a lot more work to do the bearings. when I looked at mine the gold was just showing through on two of them. https://www.scoobynet.com/scoobynet-...-question.html
