The Bomber gets Volks! *** Warning CE28N content ***

Well after 9 years my cars worn gold wheels of some sort.

It's was time for a change so I took quite a big punt on these. Always anxious of the murdered out black on black look. But I must say, so far I quite like it.
So far I think it makes the car look pretty brutal even when stationary. Also swapped to small stone guards rather than full mudflaps for a less rally look.

I need to get these Goodyears off and my own tyres on, and tempted to change the colour.

What do we think?

RAYS Volk Racing CE28N 18x8, ET44 ltd edition diamond black.

Sorry for the quick phone pics, I'll get out and take some good ones soon as I can.

I would leave the colour as is but if you do decide to change make sure you get your moneys worth out of this colour first IMO.

Does look pretty intimidating though.:thumb:

jazzyjembreaze 01 August 2014 02:02 AM

Like :)
Winglets on rear are a nice touch also

fawor 01 August 2014 04:41 AM

Looks standard,no matter volks or bbs, old crap design.
Exhaust looks ridiculous, no way close to bad ass look
Rear diffuser would be nice touch:thumb:

Do you ever have anything nice to say? :Whatever_

frayz 01 August 2014 08:30 AM

Lol, it's okay Banny.
Water off a ducks back mate. Most people tell me I've got the nicest bugeye they know of.
I either know a lot of liars or they can't all be wrong.

Personal taste will never agree with everyone. :)

sivo 01 August 2014 09:32 AM

I will have your exhaust if ya wanna get rid mucka :luvlove:..... Ha ha

Cracking choice of wheels Frayz, would like to see them in a lighter shade tho, maybe anthracite or a flat grey ?

I quite like the mini pi$$ flaps too.... :norty:

Still the best bug on scoobynet :thumb:

birchy2010 01 August 2014 09:34 AM

I like them but the rears look a little lost in the arches, If they were a little bit wider it would be perfect! Still the best bug I've ever seen though!

You obviously have not got a bloody clue about anything, those wheels and brakes on the car are probably worth more than your heap. :lol1:

Everybody has an opinion and is entitled to express it, whether their opinion has any merit on the other hand is another matter. :thumb:

They're a strange colour. In the sun they have a lot of silver flake in them to look quite a bit lighter in colour. Slightly wider wheels may have been an option if they were easier to find second hand. However they're a 44mm offset which is 4mm lower than then speedlines. This has increased the track by 8mm anyway.
I'll get the Michelins on and see how they sit and go from there.

I must admit I was convinced I was going to change the colour when I purchased them... Now I'm not so sure.

I kinda like its new aggy look. :)

Cannon Fodder 01 August 2014 09:44 AM

I do like the black on black theme, but if you were to consider a colour change then it would have to be to BMW Sepang Bronze (BMW colour code A32) in a gloss finish. :)

frayz 01 August 2014 09:47 AM

I quite like Volks ltd edition Mag blue or a candy teal. But I fear coloured wheels could easily make it look cheap? :(

I tend to agree bud, gold is the only "colour" so to speak that you can get away with on an impreza.
I'm not convinced with my silver turini's but at £325 all in spanking new I guess I will live with it for a while..... Lol
I quite like the idea of a flat grey, I'm considering prepping mine in grey primer, flatting the paint off and buffing them up a bit or maybe a coat of clear.

Looking good as always Frayz.

Abx 01 August 2014 10:08 AM

Sorry mate, nice wheels but I absolutly loved the black/gold look you had before, but can also fully appreciate the need for a change after so long, am in the same boat, had my speedlines for ages now and keep getting tempted to change but cannot find a wheel I like more.

How about these in gold and some small spacers to push them out a little further?

The wheels look great as they are. They give the car a more sinister look than the gold (you might not like that look of course) whereas blue or candy teal would just look gay! (You might like that look of course) :norty:

Stunning car

I can't see why you think it looks standard, virtually every part you can see there has been modified in some way :wonder:

I like the wheels, but think a change of colour could be nicer. Also, they are the 1st ever set of mud guards I'm not offended by.

Nice car mate

jimbob9875 01 August 2014 12:11 PM

In my opinion (which to be fair is worth nothing) this is the best Impreza in the country :thumb::notworthy:notworthy

I did prefer the black and gold look though!!

Well said Ty. I'd go further and say some people shouldn't be allowed an opinion as they're too thick to exercise that liberty responsibly.
Great wheels and a great car Frayz. :thumb:

M2RTXhawkeye 01 August 2014 01:18 PM

Loved it before Frayz love it even more now... Great choice in wheels mate

ronjeramy 01 August 2014 01:33 PM

Looks awesome Frayz. Like said above bronze would look good too, a bit more jdm?? :)

forgedmarco 01 August 2014 02:20 PM

Where did you get the flaps mate? I have fiat bronze on my alloys with my black prodrive bug still getting use to them :)

rb5 stu 01 August 2014 02:57 PM

Nice wheels but much prefered the speedlines.

jameswrx 01 August 2014 03:53 PM

Nice rims. I prefer the look of it before on the speedlines but I would have the Volks myself. Probably makes no sense lol but I could see greater satisfaction owning the Volks regardless of breaking hearts on an Internet forum. Darker wheels never photo well either.

romford-boy 01 August 2014 04:20 PM

Have to say I think it is a bit too much black. A gun metal might help break up the singularity of the colour scheme.

Young Frayz, I personally think these would look great in Bronze, however, get your moneys worth out of the black first :)
