Heart Rate Monitors

I'm looking for a new HRM for the Mrs.

Must be smaller than a Garmin 310xt and she's not that bothered if it has GPS but it must be downloadable/ synchable with a computer.

Any suggestions (plus any to steer clear of)?

Are you going to connect the HRM to a phone app or it be stand alone device?

I use the zephyr HXM connected to my phone. It uses blue tooth to connect. The latest devices are using Ant+ to connect to other devices now.

TomTom have some watches now which use an optical HRM, so does away with the chest strap.

DC Rainmaker is the place for in-depth reviews of gear like this - eg TomTom Cardio Runner or a Garmin option is the FR15
