TY754VN1AA and TY754VN4AA?
My 03 blob wrx box (vn4aa) has gone to gearbox heaven. I have found a classic TY754vn1aa and believe it to be the same ratio?
Can anyone please help me on the matter? Much much googling and I can't find the definitive answer! Thanks |
arnt blob boxes gears slightly wider/stronger then bug/classics.. so you will be fitting a weaker box? i was looking for what codes had these uprated boxes but couldnt find the answer

Try and get hold of a 7aa from a Hawk if you can.

They're supposed to be stronger.

I would rather just put a gearbox in, does no one know what final drive, rear diff and drop gear ratio either of those boxes have? 3.9, 3.545, 1.1? |

Looks like all VN boxes are the same ratio, with only driveshafts and driveshaft oil seals being the difference.

how are wrx cogs getting completly striped like that? is the wrx box just plain not capable of handling 200+hp 4wd or are people taking the piss with them
|
All uk Impreza boxes are 3.54 ratio rear diffs. The TY754VN1AA box will be fine with your own diff.

US Impreza WRX MY04 TY754VV4AA 3.454 1.947 1.366 0.972 0.738
UK/Europe Impreza Turbo 2000 / GT MY99 TY754VN1AA 3.454 1.947 1.366 0.972 0.738 same gear ratios also |

I suppose if you are unsure of the ratio of the box you can pop it in gear, turn the input shaft, watch front drive shaft do one full turn and count how many turns the prop does.
