Wonder what happened? Anyone heard anything?

*matthewturb2000* 27 July 2014 01:56 PM

Oh dear, atleast nobody lost a life, maybe someone trying to drift or something

BadBadLeeroyBrown 27 July 2014 07:19 PM

Wasnt there but a friend was. 19 year old lad in a fiesta ST being a d!ck, trying to do a burn out, caught traction and shot forward. To avoid hitting the car ahead he swerved into the people. He then drove off but was stopped by police and on lookers.

sprigeteer 27 July 2014 08:38 PM

His actions sound wrong on every level. Muppet. I hope people are not too seriously injured.

Alan Jeffery 27 July 2014 10:52 PM

"Non life threatening" is how it's been described.
For ages now, people have been complaining about local cruises, saying someone's going to get hurt one day. So along comes a prat who does just that. Brilliant news for the majority who just want to get together and talk about cars and stuff.

I imagine there's a Paul Walker sticker on his car somewhere :lol1:

This is why a cruise close to me was stopped years ago,I watched someone get hit by a guy in a Honda driving ridiculously fast right in front of me on the industrial estate. I heard different reports that he was paralysed or killed. It was a great place to meet up and chat, there's always one who goes too far.

T5NYW 28 July 2014 09:53 AM

Very sad for those injured. Hope they get well soon ;)

There is a time and a place. The public road just isn't it. Get on a track and hit a tyre wall like me. Only pride gets hurt. IMHO ok I'm no angel on the the road but I'm not trying to be a drift god.

I have had two public car parks opposite where I live and the "cruise" brigade make all local residents lives a misery. Many turn up to chat and view but ALWAYS ends in skidding around the gravel carpark wheel spins out onto the road. @@@@@@@@ nightmare.

Completely agree. Most people are not responsible enough for performance cars at 19. With great power comes great responsibility.

To be honest if he cannot control a burn out then he shouldn't be on the road anyway

I had the same car as that moron at the same age, I didn't ever attempt to do a burnout at a cruise though. Not all 19yr olds have the brain capacity of a lemming.

The video of the crash was doing the rounds on Facebook yesterday, it looked like it was always going to happen.

Yep, but the problem is not everyone is as responsible as us...

I've seen the video.... it wasn't a ST

I have been to meets/cruises before and generally its a good civil turnout. A lot of the time they go on to somewhere different where they drag, do burnouts, drifting etc and I steer well away from them. Seen some near misses in the past but the tw8t in the festa needs banning from driving for several years at least. And he should really get locked up for fleeing the scene of a crime. Whether he does or not is a different matter, maybe an example will be made of him.
Would be good to know the outcome of the court case etc against him :D

definitely not an st, older zetec s I think.

Either way the lads a prat though.

New_scooby_04 29 July 2014 12:37 PM

To be honest, sadly, I think all of these events should be organised and have a police presence. Most people are there to discuss cars make friends and exchange modding ideas etc, but unfortunately there is always a contingent of the "more bhp than sense brigade" who prat around and present a significant nuisance and danger to the gathering and the locals. It's inevitable when you get young lads in cars showing off to other lads and lasses unsupervised.

JGlanzaV 29 July 2014 01:04 PM

Unfortunately the idiots are in the minority generally and it seems that as per usual one **** will ruin it for everyone else....

I don't generally attend these kind of things because I don't like associating with people like that.

I also think the crowd are partially to blame for this kind of activity, standing so close to an idiot doing a burn out, cars are dangerous, stand next to a car carrying out a dangerous activity at your own risk. Motorsport is dangerous kids....

I hope the guy is banned from driving for life, because its nothing that couldn't have been avoided by simply applying the brake...

Smkxh95 29 July 2014 04:46 PM

Yeah looks like a fiesta zetec-s. The St came In the shape after.
I hope the BOY gets a good ban (hopefully more) and thanks his lucky stars no one was killed as it so easily could have gone that way.
I just don't see the point In meeting in a car park and ruining your tyres, wasting petrol and generally just being a nuisance.
When I started driving I think I went to one of these at the local Halford car park and one was enough for me.
Freezing my arris off talking to people who I didn't know or even care to know who just wanted to hear who had the biggest sub!
I'm 30 yes old so maybe getting old and boring but I love my car and I tinker with it and couldn't care less who who tell what I've done with it or where this part came from etc just really bemuses me.
Sorry moan over. Glad the girl in the vid wasn't more seriously hurt. I hope she sues the pants off the boy.

Peace

No not an ST at all, Trouble is the story wouldn't have the impact if they said bog standard fiesta hits crowd :Whatever_:Whatever_

An issue I have noticed down the years its not the owners of the "faster" models, ST, GTI, Cupra, STI etc.... that tend to be the menace at meets or on the road but more often than not its the "Bog" standard Corsa, Fiesta, Ibiza, Clio, Saxo that look like they crashed into a branch of Halfords and collected every cheap bit of plastic on the way through that try to draw attention to themselves at meets or on the road by doing this kind of thing almost like they are making up for the lack of BHP by being an idiot.

I have had 1.0l corsas and the like try to race you in my STI or my old K1 and Clio Williams etc...

I tend to find owners of similar cars are more likely to give an appreciative look in your direction, a thumbs up, wave or flash of the lights not try to prove they are 5mph quicker by hanging an inch off your rear bumper :sleep:

And before I get jumped on I'm not saying all young lads with Halfords specials want to and do cause all the issues some just want to get into the car scene and enjoy their cars and aspire to one day build up to owning something bigger, better, faster and fair play to them, I have time for them.
Just as every owner of a fast car isn't all that sensible because one day idiots like the driver of this fiesta will have the cash if not the brains to own an ST or something better :eek:
