Eml on after fitting alternator?

Hi, I've just had my alternator repaired on my 2004 blob sti as it was only charging at 12v... So Ive fitted it back on and now it's charging at 14v.. Job done!. After checking the charge I get into the car and find the eml is on? So I get the code reader out and there's a list of faults as long as my arm and they won't erase. I'm confused. The battery voltage has been low as I noticed it didn't start very good this morning but it starts perfect now so I kno there's charge in the battery again. Car drives perfect even tho eml is on and showing a load of faults. Anyone got any ideas as it's bugging me not knowing? Thanks Paul

Did they repair it or replace it? Wrong alternator will give all sorts of codes, there was a thread recently where someone mentioned about wr1 issues and turned out alternator was causing them all, yet it charged fine

I had it repaired and he changed the regulator which is the part where the electric connector goes on.... I think he's fitted the wrong one as I've read classics have a 3 pin connector but only 2 pins are used and newage use all 3 pins with the 3rd pin been for the smart charge

I bet there was nowt wrong with the alternator to begin with cos it was charging at 12.2v and I thought that was low but apparently that's not too bad wen lights aren't on. I'm thinking possibly the battery now

Probably :(

Sounds like the smart charge of the alternator hasnt been fixed correctly. If theyve put an older regulator in. This is likely the problem

Will see tmoro wen I've to take it off again and take it back to them. Luckily it's only a 2min job to take off but I've possibly just wasted my money getting it repaired wen I didn't need to lol :(

look on the bright side - preventative maintenance with winter coming

Sorted I think.. Got the old regulator put in and changed the battery and light is off now but wen I put the laptop on to the clear the codes they still wouldn't erase? But the light has stayed off and I've taken it for a good run and seems fine.. May have to get the other diagnostic tool out at work tmoro and have a play
