jdm blobeye power

hi guys,

Took my 04 jdm blobeye to Trl developments for a power run the other day. Dyno dynamics 4 wheel drive, car is totally standard apart from k&n panel filter and s205 titanium silencer.

does this seem a bit much standard?

Rickfh 22 July 2014 01:02 PM

Sounds about right, have seen other results on this site of standard cars about the same.
Is it still on original map or altered for uk fuel.

I had a legacy b4 rsk (jdm) and it came with a dyno printout of 360 bhp, when I took the car to a Subaru specialist and asked what had been done to it I was told that Subaru report a lower bhp so as not to impose on Nissan with the skyline. They said it was a sort of gentleman's agreement between the two manufacturers. It had a after market exhaust and i would have thought that it would have been mapped for uk fuel so maybe was increased then . Sadly it was a few years ago and I knew even less than I do now so maybe I miss understood something.

would have surely been mapped , if not for the benefit of running on UK fuel?

Rickfh 22 July 2014 06:59 PM

It was mapped after the decat

Yes probably but there supposedly 280 bhp could you get an extra 80 bhp out of a standard setup?

joz8968 22 July 2014 07:09 PM

Blob STi is quoted at 265PS (261bhp) isn't it?

So even more impressive.

bustaMOVEs 22 July 2014 07:29 PM

A jdm twinscroll would be 280hp so with a map after decat, looks right to me

How does 280 to 307 make 80?

Uk yes,

Ah, didn't realise that. Thought JDM was the same.

Out of interest, did ALL JDM Blob STi come with the twin scroll set-up?

1.4bar? Is that really the standard boost?

Charlie at surrey rolling road said he has seen standard jdm's vary fron 260 -310bhp Simon ( jgm ) checked ecu and said it had not got a licence so probably not mapped.

daz1968 22 July 2014 10:33 PM

Not sure how accurate tuners guesstimates can be but I had my widetrack jdm mapped for uk fuel by race dynamix he said it was about 320bhp before and 340bhp after, it's a standard car apart from panel filter, exhaust and 3 port. Figures mean nothing and am more interested how it drives so it's never really bothered me,
