What's your best 1/4 mile time? And spec?

I had a quick look for a similar thread, but another won't hurt if there's already one floating about. :D

I'll start

12.7 Uk classic (318 BHP).

chieftain333 09 July 2014 06:56 PM

1996 JDM STI wagon,302 bhp 12.74 at 106mph

Taking my 2003 JDM STI to york dragway on Sunday and hoping for a 12.5

cookstar 09 July 2014 06:57 PM

Nice time, I'd also like to know what stage of stripping out etc, if at all please. :)

Mines full fat, leather etc.

Oh and with a full tank of fuel. :brickwall

scoobiepaul 09 July 2014 07:13 PM

Only time I have been on the strip was at Santapod I did three runs against a strong head wind and I did a 13.7 car was a jdm sti bugeye 295 bhp ( standard) think with more runs/practice and no wind think I could get a low 13 sec time.

sbushby 10 July 2014 08:00 AM

my best so far is 13.0
Thats in my v6 ra with everything in, only running 306bhp.

Im desperate to crack 12`s so more power to come lol

ScoobyDoo69 10 July 2014 09:26 AM

Best I had ran was 12.1 @ 113mp from my Blobeye STi with around 360bhp at the time. Would have loved to have had another go after it was at 400bhp - would have got into the 11s easy I'd have thought.

mickywrx 10 July 2014 08:03 PM

Mine.

Interesting thread. I reckon mine would be around the 13. Mark

"Interesting thread. I reckon mine would be around the 13. Mark"

That's not really how it works, otherwise I "reckon" mine would be around the 10 mark, but it's actually 14.4....

Anger 11 July 2014 12:10 AM

11.4 @126mph
99RA 457bhp 411lbs/ft fully stripped out

Wasn't a set in stone comment. Similar power to Micky's, so I 'reckon' about that sort of time. I appreciate there's variables.

L.J.F 11 July 2014 11:59 AM

Less mechanical sympaphy will go some way to getting a better time.

Give it hell!

Aztec Performance Ltd 11 July 2014 01:07 PM

11.7s@119mph. 340bhp UK Classic. Seats and spoiler removed.

cookstar 11 July 2014 04:59 PM

How much power should one need to get into the 11s?

I know it's not an exact science but ballpark.

99uk classic

AndyBaker 11 July 2014 05:32 PM

Kas, if you see this what time did the S202 do on the strip? I'm pretty sure it was in the 11's but can't remember. Andy

You prepared to launch your car, with a 36 hour old gearbox fitted, at circa 6000 RPM, Dan?

I did, whilst side stepping the clutch. No mechanical sympathy here. :D

Just noticed the 13s remark, yeah probably get to around that with practice, if you're a novice. Took me a couple of years, not running regularly to get down to 12.4s.

Tubaru 22 July 2014 08:09 PM

5mt 2007 forester xt 13,3 @163kmh (vf28, ca. 330hp)
Launched from 3krpm because of old tyres.

ossett2k2 22 July 2014 09:02 PM

Interesting thread :) is it lights out and then set off or does the timer start running when the car moves?
I'm from Leeds and wouldn't mind doing a run in my standard wrx ra. Doubt I would get sub 14s tho but would be good to see. I might look into seeing where is best to go but York is close to me so would probably go there :thumb:

Timer starts when you move.
Shallow stage for better reaction time and faster TS, deep stage and risk a cherry for better ET.

Yorks a good place to go,45 quid to run. It's the most adrenalin fuelled thing I've done. The first run is definitely a big buzz

Cool sounds like a good day out. I will however have to sort my sticky brakes out 1st and possibly remove the 112mph limiter, mind you I doubt I would get to that speed before the quater mile

That's a good time joe...!

11.6 with a 1.80 60ft on a damp poor track.

11.2 on the slicks at shakespeare in an old spec so will be looking for 10s soon I hope.

For a standard car it went well, not awfully sure how accurate the timing is at York.

Hopefully with the new spec well see an 11

Joe

The timing should be pretty accurate its the surface that will let you down.

On the strip at dakota raceway it is an old concrete run way in a farmers field and the surface is ****e. Hence why an 11.6 is the best time there, at shakespeare county we will definitely improve the times dramatically, especially in the new spec.

I will get my 10 just to prove it can be done!

I think, from memory, Kas ran high 12's in that car when we went. He may of ran it again at a later date and ran quicker.
In fairness though, everybody was running slow times that day.

banny sti 23 July 2014 08:33 AM

10.80 @ 123 mph circa 580bhp

Ciaran 23 July 2014 09:52 AM

Hi

Sorry for the late response, I dont get on here much as I use to.

I ran the car about 10 times, best I got out of it was 11.9 :wonder:. Think this was without LC enabled & 17s
